I stayed here last week as I was meeting a friend for dinner. I was warmly greeted by a male receptionist who's name I cannot remember who had gone out of his way to make sure the room I was in suited my mobility needs. He also patiently answered all the questions I was firing at him and I am extremely grateful to him. The room I was in took a long long time to heat up so I was very grateful for the warm bed which was extremely comfortable and I had an excellent night sleep. I was shocked that the television only showed 5 channels so I was unable to catch up on my usual viewings 😢. This building I would say is tired and dated. In my room there was a hole in the wall where it looked like someone had punched it. There were paint and scuff marks on the walls which looked like it had been there a long time. Breakfast for me was mediocre. You really need more staff. For instance I was unable to lift the jug of milk to pour over my cereal and there was nobody around so I had to ask another guest to help me on a couple of occasions. The thing that really upset me was a woman who at first was smiling but when I gave her a pain au chocolate and asked her to heat it up for me her smile vanished as if she really didn't want to do it. On that experience alone if I was staying again I would probably try to eat breakfast elsewhere. It is only because of the receptionist that I would stay again.

This hotel has spent a lot on upgrading its social spaces but they need to spend more on upgrading the rooms! We stayed in 103, ||The Bathroom was mouldy! it smelt like B.O! ||There was filler on the wall! ||Blue tak on the TV clearly not cleaned from the last guest and lastly the Tea and coffee was not filled! ||such a shame as we stayed in the Brentwood one the week before and it was 100% better then this hotel.

Stayed for two nights when my partner had an exam in Chelmsford.
The hotel is well located but does lack on site parking. There is paid parking nearby, but that is an extra cost.
The room was clean but a bit used, the carpets were a bit stained. The bathroom wasn't 100%, the plugs don't look like they are cleaned regularly, but otherwise in good nick.
Close to the train station, less than 5 minute walk as well as shops and take aways.

Lovely stay rooms are very clean and hotel in all was brilliant. Very welcoming when you first come in always greater with a smile, enjoyed the cocktails will happily stay again. Thank you too Giulio & Paulina they were brilliant they were very helpful overall!

A really nice stay, The staff were so lovely and very helpful - Karis, Joanna. Food was great plant burger was so nice - care of Raymond. Would definitely recommend this hotel and restaurant. From check in to advice on where to go it was lovely.

The staff are just fabulous, a special shout out to Chan & Liz for their great service at breakfast. ||Perfect location for us travelling for work. Nice modern decor.||We arrived late and quite a few options were sold out for dinner but we did manage to find something that suited us.||Will return.

I meet up with an old friend a couple of times a year and the weekend just gone (8th/9th March 2025), the destination was our old stomping ground of Chelmsford.|Over the years I've stayed in hundreds of Premier Inns, all over the country, but have to say, this one is probably the nicest!|Generally speaking, all Premier Inn rooms are clean, but its the people (staff) that make a good/nice hotel.|The room was spotless and the staff were all friendly and very efficient.|When I came down for breakfast, both staff members had lovely souls, very happy and chatty first thing on a Sunday morning. The food cooked by the singing chef was also spot-on.||I will definitely stay here again.

I stayed here in March, I previously reviewed this place but I believe it's had a refresh, it's made no difference. I stayed in a Plus room which wasn't cheap even with no breakfast. In short it's really not great. |The auto check in machines don't work so there was sizeable queue at check in.|The room is not clean, it clearly isn't cleaned properly and was looking tatty. There is dust and I guess human skin under the bed and down the side of the fridge was disgusting.|There were stains on the carpet and mould in the bathroom.|Repairs had been bodged and the door stop was hanging off.|I emailed a complaint, got an automatic reply stating I would hear within 5 days .....and of course heard nothing. Tells you all you need to know about their attitude to customers.
