We stayed here for three nights last weekend as attending a wedding at The Old Rectory. Very enjoyable. All the staff engaged with us, and were friendly, whilst remaining professional. A mention to Joe and Toni on reception, who took time to chat with us.
The room had been newly refurbished so everything was lovely and new. The restaurant was busy, as weekend and beginning of half term, but very organised and kept clean by the staff who were on the go the whole time!

Stayed here in a premier plus room night 21st June. The plus rooms have just been finished and are super clean and comfortable. Had the best nights sleep I've had in months. Staff were also really friendly and helpful.

Not the best example of a Premier Inn. We stayed here for three nights whilst visiting family. Whilst the Premier Plus room was excellent except for a hole in the back of the bathroom door. Admittedly they were refurbishing the rooms, but sadly this did cause some problems. No Wi-Fi for three days although included in the Premier Plus price it did not exist. No refund offered of course. Breakfast on the third day did not exist as there were problems with the water in the kitchen. As we had pre paid for it, a refund was offered. Beats me why it takes 14 days to get my money back when they can take it off me in 14 seconds. The One thing that saves this place is the staff. Friendly and helpful throughout. Hopefully next year things will be better.

We stayed because it was the closest hotel to the hospital. The staff seem oblivious of this. They were short, seemed bothered by every interaction and unbothered by complaints. ||The water pressure was abysmal and they basically just told us "yeah we know there's nothing we can do". Offered nothing in the way of apology or compensation. Unfortunately we had to stay another night, which was worse due to noise from refurbishment in the rooms above, much worse quality of room and continued attitude from staff. In addition the fire alarm panel had a fault which was beeping the full time we stayed and not fixed. Concerning. ||||It's fine. It's a premier inn. For all intents and purposes you know what you're going to get. But please make your staff aware that if they run a hotel near an ICU they need to communicate with compassion and patience. And that if you are offering a lower quality room with barely any running water, you owe your customers a partial refund because it is not as described.

Positive|The bed was comfortable.||Negatives|1. Water pressure non existent - showering was a waste of time.|2. Insufficient surfaces, facilities and storage. I expected the room to have desk like all the other Premiers we’ve stayed in. Everything had to go on the little circular table, on the floor, or remain in the suitcases for which there was only one stand. There were no glasses in the room or bathroom and had to ask for 2. We were told to use the coffee mugs for wine and in the bathroom.|3. Excessive noise from the motor company next door started at around 6 am.|4. Excessive noise from the refurbishment work started at around 7:30 am.|5. Excessive noise from a faulty lift went on almost until midnight when I had to go to reception to complain. Only then was it disabled and signs put up for it not to be used. I was told that there wasn’t an alternative room for us.|6. We ate at the Brewers Fayre on the first night - the fish and chips were lukewarm and tasteless. We vowed not to eat there again.|7. After the lift fiasco I arranged to speak with the manager the next morning. We had decided that after 2 disturbed nights and early mornings we could not stay for the remaining 4 booked nights and to check out and come home. I was immediately informed that there was, now, an alternative room for us away from the faulty lift (which had been fixed that morning) but it wasn’t a guarantee that we would not be woken each morning by the building work. I asked about a refund as per Premier Inn’s Good Night Sleep Policy, but was told that because my reminder email mentioned that there was refurbishment work being undertaken [no mention of the excessive noise it would bring] we were not eligible. ||Reasons for checking out 4 days early|1. Lack of an effective shower |2. Noise from the lift, even when working properly|3. Excessive external noise from local businesses |4. Excessive noise from refurbishment work|||Outcome |I completed the feedback form and submitted a formal complaint |I received a call from Customer Relations who reinforced their position. They did apologise and offered a full refund for the 2 nights we stayed. Nothing could be done about the 4 nights we missed out on. |We have stayed in many Premier Inns all over the UK but this was the worst one ever. It does need a complete facelift, but they should have closed it down completely whilst it was being undertaken.||I would not recommend anyone stay here.

Absolutely perfect for us. We really cannot fault this hotel, very comfortable and friendly. On that note I’d like to say the receptionist working during our stay were second to none. They were happy, helpful and really a credit to the hotel.|So much so I asked for all there names so I could mention them in my review. So Joe, Lisa, Cuz, Rom, Jake and last but not least Myrtle thank you so much.

I thought I'd already left a review but can't find it; maybe it's been wiped!
Not at all impressed with this place (other Premier Inns have been fine), apart from the 2 people on reception (one night; Sunday 1st June). The young man in the morning was exceptionally helpful with info on how to get a bus and how to walk to the appropriate stop as it was a bit complicated.
I would suggest that bus timetables would be a good idea in reception. We didn't arrive by car as we were picking one up in Robertsbridge and I'm sure we're not the only ones not to arrive in our own car (found a taxi).
The bar staff sounded reasonable but all seemed rather apprehensive and miserable, as though they didn't really enjoy their job. The tables in the 'restaurant' were sticky (we tried 2); I wiped one with a tissue and it came up black and with bits! I told one of the bar staff and she said, rather abruptly, that "they're all sticky because the product we use doesn't clean them well". Duh! Well, change the product so that they are clean, please!
The food was good, though my gammon steak had a lot of fat on it. The breakfast was great, except for the pain au chocolat which was cold and a bit tired.
In the room (a double and a single bed), there was only one chair and a very small table, a load of sockets on the wall with no top beneath to put anything on, 2 hand towels but only 1 bath towel. We didn't bother showering!
Fortunately, it's highly unlikely that we will be in Hastings again (though the town is great); if we are, it will be the Travel Lodge. I'm originally a Sussex girl and felt ashamed at the poor standard in this establishment.

Stayed one night. Large rooms, adequate bathroom. Comfy bed. Clean!
Excellent Staff both on front of house and in the restaurant and bar.
Stayed here last year and the quality of the meals in the restaurant have improved immensely. Keep the current chefs!
Very pleased!
