Great Stay at Premier Inn City Centre : Clean, Spacious, and Convenient

I booked a family room at Premier Inn (City Centre branch) for 10 days for my parents and little brother during their visit to the UK. The total cost was £581, which I found very reasonable, especially since it did not include any meals (breakfast, lunch, or dinner).

The room itself was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a standard double bed and an extra small bed for my brother. The location was fantastic everything was within walking distance, including plenty of restaurants and shops, so finding food was never an issue.

I also appreciated the Klarna payment option, which made booking more flexible. Overall, we had a great experience, and I would highly recommend this Premier Inn for anyone looking for an affordable, comfortable, and well-located stay in the city centre.

The hotel room was quite dated compared to the other Premier Inns i have been staying in but it was clean and comfortable, but the reason for being quite disappointed was the breakfast and customer service.||On arrival, there was no staff on reception. I tried to use the electronic booking in system but it did not recognise my booking number so i rang the bell quite a few times for help. As no one came after another 5 mins i tried the electronic booking system again and managed to get in with my name. By the time i had logged in and sorted my key cards, still no one came to reception.||The breakfast menu offered lots of items and looked lovely but when we visited the breakfast area there were lots of items that were not available. Firstly when looking for the vegetarian meat options on the cooked breakfast i was told we had to order it and it would be 6 minute wait at this point i had already filled up my plate with the other breakfast items so by the time i had received the vegetarian sausage/bacon i had eaten most of my breakfast. The bacon was not good at all, it was like eating beef jerky. The only pastries on offer were croissants although it stated pastrie(s), no blueberry muffins either as advertised. There were no yoghurts either to go with the fruit and granola. When asking the staff for these items i was not greeted well. No apology or warmth to her reply. I was made to feel like i shouldn't have asked and i was an inconvenience. Not worth the £10.99 each that we spent.

I wish I had heeded the reviews mentioning the car park being tight. A momentary lapse in concentration and I scuffed my rear wing on the corner of the exit ramp. It would also be good to have simple instructions on the car park from reception. I thought they were saying something about a cord at the payment point but it was actually about entering a code. Notices at reception about validating parking actually means pay at the machine. No bitter on tap. Room too warm despite turning down temperature and windows don't open. Didn't get much sleep. Good breakfast.

This hotel had a great location in the city center but I probably would stay here again unless I really need to be in the center of town or by the train station. I booked a Premier Plus room due to the website not show any standard rooms available but it was worth the extra few £ because when I saw my family’s standard room it was clearly super out dated. The room I had had a good view and was on a higher floor. Unfortunately it had a stale musty odor in it though. The room was clean but they only provided 2 pillows which were flat and the mattress was old and was concave in the center. The “upgraded” bathroom was alright. I think the design put form over function. I would say I have average shoulder length but I couldn’t stand in the center of the shower without either one of my shoulder touching the wall or the glass. And the shampoo pumps were also awkwardly in the area where the water fell. Furthermore I was provided any shampoo or lotion. Just two different scented body washes (the lavender one was very nice). Their elevators also take a long time during peak hours which they have a sign informing you of that as well. It’s just a bit annoying. All staff was amazing and they were kind enough to refill our water bottles at the bar on our date of departure.

Nothing to fault with hotel. Room and everywhere was super clean. Very comfy beds and warm room. Best premier inn I have stayed at. Hotel serves a very high standard breakfast and has loads of seats on ground floor, should you arrive early and have to wait around for your room.

Stayed here so we didn’t have drive for 3 hours early in the morning. The person on desk checked us in promptly, the room was very spacious and clean. Car parking price was also good for it being in city centre, although it was a tight squeeze even with a little car. However everything else was as it should be. We had a great nights sleep.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Paula - she was the host during breakfast. She remembered my name from day 1 (I was there 3 days). Paula gave us ideas on where to go around the city, she ensured our breakfast was to our liking. She is professional as well as approachable a brilliant combination. I will remember this Premier Inn because of her. She is a gem.

Enjoyed my stay here during the month of November on business. The rooms are a little bit tired but very comfortable beds. The staff are great and very helpful. Nothing is too much for them. A big shout out to Paula from the breakfast team, who is there with a smile each morning.
