Good points- Great Location; 3rd floor Room quiet (thankfully); Reception Staff generally helpful (although not in breakfast related issues); Discounted parking.|Bad Points- The Currently used Silentnight Mattress were not to our liking, felt like sleeping on a great wobbly jelly; Numerous advertised breakfast items missing on each of the 3 mornings of our stay, with staff NOT proactively replenishing basics such as milk, fruit and yogurt; Bedside cabinet surfaces not cleaned and rather dirty on our arrival; Bathroom fan had a mind of its own as to when it operated; No shower mat for slippery bath; No hot water available from bathroom basin tap.

We have stayed here a few times. This time a pre Xmas visit to meet with family. |Overall another good stay. Our room this time had an excellent view and was larger than average. Very clean and quiet. Excellent location, car park a few minutes away. |The attached restaurant was not as good as previous visits. Steak not cooked correctly. Also restaurant extremely noisy, it was a good atmosphere but difficult to hold a conversation as music too loud !|Breakfast has always been good at a premier inn , but obviously cut backs has hit Premier inn . The pastries are now very poor quality, croissants, now very cheap supermarket quality, pain au chocolates cut in half portions. My husband stayed in another premier inn this week, also noted huge deterioration in quality ingredients for breakfast. So this seems to be the norm now . Shame.

Best premier inn I have ever stayed in staff are lovely had a top floor room with amazing view of the aircraft carriers. |Room was very clean along with the rest of the hotel and despite being on a main road you couldn’t hear any traffic from inside . If your off to Portsmouth I would definitely recommend staying here

Ok and dated. Looks like they have had a water problem as the stairwell was all wet… service was slow at the Bar and Block. Rooms dated and need better ventilation. Family of 4 staying and 2 cups? Appreciate you can ask for more but surely shouldn’t have to?

My husband and I chose Portsmouth for our holiday for my birthday. We were very keen to see the Historic Dockyards and everything around it so we chose the Dockyards Premier Inn thinking it sounded fairly central to what we wanted, and so accommodate my husband's disability needs. When we arrived we found it a few minutes walk round the corner from the train station...VERY handy !! In fact, the hotel turned out to be perfectly central for us. We booked a Premier Plus room, fourth floor. For the most part we were very happy with our room, though I felt it could do with a freshen up, but otherwise, apart from being too hot for us to sleep comfortably and the staff did try their best to turn down air con heating but were only able to go as low as 19°C...but did provide a fan as I had requested...room was just too warm ...that would be my only real issue || Temperature control should really be adjustable to suit the customer. We included breakfast in our room...from my perspective, I was happy with the selection offered, both hot and continental choices were good, and the hot food was exactly that, hot! And fresh fruit salad was available every day ( we are there for 8 nights) which was fresh and delicious...and a Berry one aswell...oh, and the Eton Mess ICE cream I had at lunch one day was simply on another level...do try it for yourself, your tummy will thank you. All in all, the staff were lovely, couldn't do enough for you. I would definitely love to return to this particular Premier Inn again...if just for the bed...comfort at it's best!

Only stayed here 1 night but was great.
Stared in their premier plus rooms. Which had both kettle filtered coffee facilities. Fridge. Comfy bed and decent washroom facilities.
We opted for breakfast, which was unlimited. Great variety of options and tasty.
Location excellent. Just minutes walk from portsmouth harbour station and all tourist attractions including the shopping outlet.
Staff friendly.
Car just across the road. Get discount if staying in hotel. For me it was 4 pound off. So was 10 quid for 24 hours.
Highly recommend if staying in Portsmouth

Nice, simple hotel in a great location. Restaurant downstairs looked delicious for dinner, but a bit on the high end of the price scale. Breakfast was quick, easy and delicious in the morning. We arrived well before noon and easily stored our bags while we went out to explore for the day.

Outstanding! The location, room, rate, and restaurant were all fantastic! Lois the Manager was so lovely and super helpful. She was the icing on the cake for a superb stay! Thank you so much, Premier Inn Portsmouth! 😁 We'll definitely be back!
