A bit of misunderstanding re ‘accessible’ rooms but we were on ground floor which was a great help although no disabled facilities. There was a disabled toilet between restaurant/reception. But….it was only open during food/drink service hours. We managed. |The staff, however, were fantastic - right from Mark on reception who was a great help at, what seemed, any time, we needed him. He helped with parking, our luggage, and opened doors for us. |Paul, the duty manager, who also seemed to be running the bar and restaurant, went above and beyond. He helped us with check in (I’d had a long journey from Cornwall via Reading with 2 back seat drivers and he intuitively could see I was super stressed!). The little stair lift up to the restaurant was out of order so he set to and laid a table downstairs for us and was happy to run up and down to sort out our food and drinks - nothing was too much trouble. My disabled mother and I felt quite awkward about it but Paul put us at our ease and we definitely had service with a smile. He did that for all meals we had and also set up a large table when we had some relatives visit us for a drink. He took in his stride our rather loud chat and laughter and trotted down and up to serve us. |I hope to return.

Let’s start with the positives. The room was clean and comfortable and extremely quiet considering the proximity of the main road and the flight path for Manchester Airport. The service in the restaurant, however, was abysmal. We were a party of eight and we sat down at our table at around 6.50pm. The drinks order was taken and then after around 30 minutes they arrived. Our food order was taken and it was another 30 minutes or so before the starters arrived. Another lengthy wait for the main courses. Only seven were served as the kitchen had run out of an ingredient for the missing meal! They must have known this much earlier and could have offered an alternative then. The party member then ordered a mushroom pizza only to be told that they were out of mushrooms and ‘Oh sorry, we’re out of pizzas as well’ For speed they then had the original ordered meal without one of the ingredients. The food was not too bad at all apart from a curry that had to be sent back as it was luke warm. Then the desserts arrived for those who had ordered. My wife and another guest had ordered cheesecake with the initial order only to be told they had run out of that too! By this time it was approaching 10pm and my wife and I decided enough was enough and left. As we had paid for a meal deal we asked for a refund as we did not want the same fiasco at breakfast the following morning. Not a good experience at all.

The location was perfect for what we needed and the rooms were clean and comfortable. What I really want to comment on was how friendly the staff here are. Every single staff member we met (reception, cleaners, restaurant staff) were always smiling, made an effort to greet us and genuinely seemed happy to have us there. The staff in the breakfast room were brilliant, funny and welcoming to the extent that we looked forward to seeing them in the morning as much as to eating the breakfast, which was also very good! Honestly, hats off to everyone working at this Premier Inn. I hope we come back again soon!

The service in the dining room for dinner on the first night was appalling. No condiments on the table, and one waiter/person was quite rude when one of us took some from another table. Ordered meals soon after 6.30/7.00, including desserts for some of us. Long wait for just 3 starters. Then, about another hour before the table was cleared and main courses started to arrive. There were 8 of us - and 7 meals arrived. One had to send her meal back because it was almost cold. I'd ordered Nachos, which hadn't been served, so I asked when they were coming. Answer: " I'm very sorry we haven't got them - we haven't got the sauce" . This was nearly 2 hours since ordering it !!! A menu was produced for me to re-order. Chose a mushroom pizza. Different waiter/person came back and said "sorry, no mushrooms - errr, actually no pizzas either" . I said "ha ha, you're just winding me up" " No. You could have most of the Nachos, it's just the cheese sauce we haven't got. There's tortilla chips, sour cream and salsa." I said, "surely you can just sprinkle some grated cheese on and melt it?" Waiter said, "well if you'd said you'd be happy with that in the first place, you could have had it by now" . NO APOLOGY!! I was fuming, but I wasn't sure if he was saying that in a jokey way, so I didn't react. Anyway it finally arrived, by which time most of my friends had finished theirs. It was OK, but a bit dry, and there was very little grated cheese. Then we were asked if we wanted desserts. Some had already ordered 3 hours ago. Another long wait then Waiter came back and said "Sorry we've got no cheesecake" which 3 people wanted, and had ordered 3 hours before. My friend got very angry, cancelled her & her husband's desserts, and cancelled their breakfasts and said they'd go out to anywhere that might have decent service. I think they got some refund back, but none of the rest of us did for the long waits, and I didn't get offered any refund or partial refund for my Nachos dinner being only part complete. Unbelievable ! The only saving was a very apologetic waiter, who explained that he'd never worked anywhere with such poor customer service, and that although he'd only been there a short time he was leaving because of their attitude. What are you going to do about this Premier Inn

First time staying here to visit family. We have always used the other Premier inns in the Stockport area in the past. Not anymore... This will be our first choice from now on. The whole team are so friendly and can't do enough for
you. Our room was spotlessuhv and on the ground floor which was perfect for my elderly mum. We had breakfast and evening meals at the restaurant within the hotel on both evenings. The food was delicious good variety of dishes on menu ? We will back soon.

Would just like to say a huge thank you to Paul, duty manager, restaurant. Family travelled down from Scotland, sadly, for our brother's funeral. Paul made it so pleasant for us and completely understood our Scottish humour & sarcasm (helps having Scottish in his family too). He gave as good as he got!! We loved him! Hotel was excellent with regards to location for us & well ...beds & pillows always a comfort. Paul, thank you for your service & kindness you are one of kind!

Got an early check in with no fuss, room was very clean. Ample parking. Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious and the lady in the breakfast room was very friendly. On the way out the cleaner greeted us cheerfully and asked if we needed help with our bags.||||Happy helpful staff, no problems during the stay, nice and clean - seems well run.
