lovely hotel in a really good place for york. the train station is only a 15min walk away (mostly flat too).

me and my best friend had a twin room, which was very spacious, clean and warm. the only issue i had with the room (125) was the hair dryer kept cutting out (i had to hold the button down while drying my hair. not the biggest issue ever but if you're in a rush trying to try your hair, you're better off bringing your own one if you stay in room 125 -not sure if it's the same issue for all the other rooms!!)

staff were very friendly, and helpful. the hotel itself was very clean, very warm and the breakfast was nice enough (again not much to go on if you're vegetarian -or vegan for that matter-) maybe some more warm options other than eggs, hash browns and mushrooms for the veggies and vegans!!

Room was brilliant, bed was very comfy & room overall was very clean. Enjoyed relaxing in the room. Also enjoyed sitting on the sofas in the bar area in the evening. Ate in the restaurant one evening and food was good but service was slow, the staff did apologise & said they were understaffed. Overall had a great stay & hotel is in a great location for exploring York.

Fairly new hotel in a really good location close to the city centre. Staff very friendly and helpful. Could leave bags in a secure room prior to check in. Was a bit concerned after seeing other reviews regarding breakfast, but we were there for 2 nights in the Easter holidays and didn't have any issues either morning. Although there was not a water dispenser in the foyer the staff were happy to fill up our water bottles. Family room was better laid out than in other Premier Inns. Would definitely stay here again if visiting York, although it is the furthest one from the train station!

Lovely weekend away in York. The hotel is in a great location. Got parked up very easily in the hotel car park but we arrived early. Breakfast was fantastic. I would say, though, such like the parking. If you arrive late, the spaces are gone. We walked out of the restaurant at 10.30 and the queue was very long. Our room was very clean and spacious enough for our family to have a base. Would recommend and will stay again.

Lovely hotel, plenty of room for our family of 4. Travel cot provided was perfect.
Breakfast was great plenty to choose from. Dinner service was a little slow. Took 90 mins for 2 course meal to be served, but we think they may have been short staffed.

Great hotel in the perfect location. Very modern and clean throughout. Super friendly staff. Perfect for a family visit.||We only ate breakfast there and used the bar but no issues. ||||Overflow parking about 5 minutes away at the retail park if no hotel parking available.||Hotel -£15 for 24 hours||Retail Park -£10 for 24 hours||||Luggage drop available if needed.||||The best night's sleep ever!

This was our second stay in this Premier Inn as it's in a good location to get into York City centre. We travelled by train so I can't comment on the parking cost / arrangements.

We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, breakfasts good and the rooms decent (comfortable bed, good shower and blackout type curtains) - the only issue I found was the room wasn't disability friendly - I found it difficult to get in and out of the shower (which was over a bath with high sides). There were USB charging sockets - one on each side of the bed - to charge mobile phones, tech equipment etc. Free WiFi is available although it's very slow and you have to sign into it before you start using it.

Reception can be a bit understaffed at times so you do have to wait for assistance and, as other reviewers have mentioned, there can be queues to be seated for breakfast. We tended to get up early so queues most days were minimal / non-existent for us but we observed long queues later from 9-9.30am onwards. Our room on the second floor had a nice view of the River Foss, start of the city walls and Minster.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at this Premier Inn and were happy with both occasions we've stayed there.

First impressions stick and Layerthorpe impression was great.|Clean, airy tidy and relaxed atmosphere.|The self check in did not work but the staff behind the desk were happy to help.|When got to the room (326) the view was fantastic. York Minster in the distance and the sunsets were amazing.|10min walk to city center and the vibes are great. Small terrace to sit and sup on a drink in the sun was just what was needed after a long day shopping.|We have family that live in Huntington so we will be back...
