Superb experience having the festive lunch at The Priory today. Easy parking in hotel car park through gates. Warmly welcomed into the hotel. Enjoyed pre lunch drinks in the lovely lounge by the roaring fire. The dining room itself is beautifully appointed and has an incredible setting by the hotel gardens overlooking the river. The dinner itself was excellent. My Mulled Wine Poached Pear and Shakespeare Brie Double Baked Soufflé was amazing. The Fillet of Beef Wellington was probably the best main course (English food) I’ve ever had. Excellent service throughout which was attentive yet unobtrusive, courteous and smart yet helped us feel relaxed and not rushed. Thank you Cristian and all the staff (compliments to the outstanding chef) for a very special lunch, we will return. Highly recommend.

had lunch yesterday for my birthday and as always it is such a treat to visit and dine at your wonderful establishment!

I have had the pleasure of staying and dining with you a few times & always enjoyed the service from Zoltan and Gille they were such a double act!

For the first time I met Christian yesterday and what a fantastic ambassador for your brand! He couldn’t have been more friendly, attentive and professional!

Will most certainly be back again soon and thank you for making my big day very special!

Best Wishes,

Matthew

Our family came here for a birthday lunch at the start of November, and it was a delightful experience. We found time to walk through the beautiful grounds before we dined, and enjoyed the Autumn colours and the riverbank. Staff were really helpful, friendly and professional, the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The Manager went the extra mile to help my daughter who needed to catch a train and was let down by a local taxi service - what a star! Definitely worth treating yourself to.

We had lunch in the main restaurant with a beautiful view of the gardens and river. Both the food and service were excellent. Christian’s burst into song to my husband joined in then by the whole restaurant was a birthday treat for my husband. Highly recommend the venue and special thanks to Christian and Lucinda for exceptional service and making our birthday lunch special.

Just occasionally you stumble across a really special hotel to stay. Stunningly beautiful historic building in wonderful setting, fabulous food and well trained polite and super professional staff.|It was like being in a wonderful country house and amazingly relaxing without any corporate feel to it. Nothing was to much trouble and all with charm.||My wife and I are fortunate to have stayed in many quality hotels but this is without doubt one of the best and worthy of a special effort to visit.||So many are costly and don’t deliver but the priory does.||Wareham is sadly a tired town like so many these days but the hotel sits in the river in a most wonderful setting.||Thank you for a really fabulous 2 night stay and a return in the summer will definitely happen when we can enjoy the lovely garden and river.||As somebody who rarely leaves a review it’s a testimony that I have taken the trouble to do so!

The most perfect stay at The Priory - I cannot recommend this beautiful hotel enough. The service provided was impeccable (attention to detail has been better than a few Michelin star restaurants we have visited) the food was absolutely delicious, we had afternoon tea which was sublime and breakfast on our balcony one morning which was wonderful, the rooms are stunning and the little details like getting a newspaper delivered in the morning is quite lovely. The grounds are also immaculately kept. It is not my first time visiting the priory and certainly won’t be my last, highly recommended! You will not be disappointed.

Went for afternoon tea with a friend. Car park at the rear down a narrow drive.
The entrance was well directed and level access. Inside it was a homely comfortable welcome. Staff were very polite, welcoming and friendly. There are steps down to the room we were in for tea but there was a level access available. Disabled access wc available.
Everything was clean and bright.
Tea was amazing, choice of beverages and a nice welcome of mulled wine with a gingerbread man.
We had booked a traditional afternoon tea but there is a savoury option. When we booked we were asked about dietary requirements and on arrival staff checked again they had it right.
Food arrived beautifully arranged on a tiered stand. Staff explained what was there and flavours. Choice of finger sandwiches (6 different flavours), freshly baked fruit scones with pots of clotted cream and jam, selection of small cakes (5 of each).
Staff were attentive and refilled tea and coffee pots without being asked.
Food was very good and plentiful....we were offered a doggie bag to take some home as we couldn't manage everything.
Highly recommend this for a luxury afternoon tea.

We went for the Autumn lunch menu in the Garden Room to celebrate my wife's birthday. The moment we stepped inside we were greeted as old friends and this was our first visit!
The lunch was superb and the service exceptional. The Priory Hotel should have at least 4 Rosettes. They deserve it. We shall be back since it is the best restaurant in Dorset.
