Dined here for Sunday lunch as a family of 3. My mum and husband had the fish and I had the roast chicken. Fish absolutely delicious and a huge portion. Roast dinner was absolutely gorgeous, gravy to die for. Followed our main courses with sticky toffee pudding.....absolutely gorgeous. Staff very attentive couldn't do enough for you. Would highly recommend

Stayed for one night on a Tuesday. The restaurant doesn’t open on Mondays and Tuesdays so from around 6.30 we were the only people in the building. We did have a key to let ourselves back in.|The room was a good size, nice bathroom. |Breakfast service was friendly but the kippers were crusty.|Not an unpleasant place to stay but given the lack of bar or any other facilities I think £150 for a double is overpriced.|Good location.

My second time staying at this hotel. Room was huge with modern bathroom and super comfy bed and linens. Sunday roast was fabulous and breakfast every day was awesome. 5 star to the staff. So helpful, friendly and could do enough for us. Will be back for sure.

Great location but that's about it really, room and bathroom didn't look like it had been cleaned very well, bathroom still had toilet roll, hairs and toothpaste on floor. Breakfast was not great, bacon must've been reheated from day before and inedible. Plenty more to say but leave at that as wouldn't want anyone in trouble. Shame as could be great.

Whilst this is a very old building, on arrival, it appeared dark, unwelcoming and in need of a lot of TLC. With a standard double bed in our room, together with our baggage, the bedroom became an impossible obstacle course as it was far too small. The bathroom was adequately equipped, but tiny. The mattress was well overdue for replacement. Having asked to reserve a table for dinner when we made the booking 7 months previously, it was disappointing to receive a message a few days before arrival that meals were not served that evening. An alternative was offered to eat at the sister hotel half a mile away, which was typical pub food, but adequate. On returning after dinner, we were expected to let ourselves in at the front door, as no staff were present and therefore the bar was closed. Breakfast could only be described as barely adequate, especially when compared with 6 other hotels and B&Bs we had stayed over the previous 2 weeks. At £124 for 1 night, this represented extremely poor value when compared with every other place we had stayed. A room price of £80 would be generous. I cannot recommend this hotel.

We popped in here for lunch earlier today and it's the 1st time on our Holiday that we have been disappointed. I asked if the had any draught beer and we were simply told there were none, no apology so we had to order cans. The menu was very limited compared to other local places. My Dad and myself both ordered Sausage in a roll, my dad changed his mind after seeing the fish was just frozen precut fillets which given that they are by the seaside is bold. The Sausage was bland and really oily served in basic bap. I only had 2 bites so that was money wasted

The server seemed really stroppy like she didn't want to be there which also affected our experience.

We didn't stay in the queen's head but went in for coffee when we saw the dogs welcome sign outside. It was about 10:30 on a Sunday morning & were made to feel very welcome. The lady who served us was very friendly. The bar area was lovely & the toilets were spotless. There was a Premier Inn around the corner, but I would much rather stay in the queen's head for that personal touch.

Really would Tate a 3.5 to 4 star overall as I can't rate the rooms as did not stay, but location, bar/restaurant meals were excellent. Car parking free for 24 hours on the river front just around the corner, or free for a few hours just across the road. Restaurant staff friendly and pricewise, it was reasonable for really wholesome food. I had the Eyemouth Haddock in light crispy, batter, mmmm!.
We discovered this place a few months back and we now chose here for pre-speedway sustenance when you're the away team. If we win it's a bonus, if not, we'll at least we've had a decent meal
