There were lots of positives about our stay at the Radisson, but a few negatives that took off a star for me. ||The location was fantastic, being walking distance to everything we wanted to see in York - the Minster, the walls, JORVIK Viking Centre and shopping in town. It had its own paid car park that was easily accessible and safe to park our car for the duration of our stay. The staff in the lobby and the Paddle Room bar were absolutely lovely and very happy to attend to any of our needs. The Paddle Room became our favourite place for a quiet evening drink overlooking the river. ||The king room had a massive bed but was very small; too small for international travellers with two suitcases, but we made do. The shower was also poorly designed and impossible not to soak the bathroom floor when used. However, the bed was huge and very comfortable, and the hotel was quiet, so we slept well.||For some reason, for about the first 24 hours of our stay, our room was a wifi black hole. You could only get signal if you were stood at the door or sat on the toilet. If you walked any further into the room, you couldn't connect. This seemed to correct itself by the second day and the wifi worked fine after that. In fact, it was so strong, I could access it down the street at Tah Tien!||I'd probably stay at Radisson again if they could fix the small inconsistencies, because location and service were fab.

Excellent location. Superior room on 5th floor overlooking the river, nice room, kingsize bed, really spacious, everything you could need. I agree the colour choice in the rooms is a bit dark, but its personal choice and did not detract from a nice stay. All staff were polite and helpful and public area's are nice, fresh and clean. Being a blue badge holder I was lucky enough to get one of 3 disabled spaces at the side of the hotel, so parking no problem. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. We would def stay again when visiting York

The hotel is nicely situated central to York City Centre with York Station, York Cathedral, The Shambles, local bars and restaurants all within easy reach of the hotel. When booking my stay, I requested a room with a river view which lived up to it's expectations. However, even with the windows closed, I was unable to get to sleep due to the noise outside of the hotel which was music playing from one of the riverside bars - Pitcher & Piano. The music/DJ ended at around 1:30am which meant I was unable to sleep until then. ||The room - number 605 - was fairly nice, the King Size bed was comfortable as were the pillows. The water pressure to the taps and shower was good compared to other hotels I've stayed in and in summary the room was clean. My only gripe and constructive feedback would be to encourage you to re-paint the bathroom door and front door as there were a lot of marks and scratches on the paintwork which could easily be addressed. Additionally, the air-conditioning was left on in the room which meant the room was quite chilly when I checked in. I did try to increase the temperature on the thermostat in an attempt to warm the room up however the unit failed to blow out any warm/hot air. ||I didn't opt for breakfast so I'm unable to comment on the restaurant although I did visit the bar which was nice albeit quite expensive. We arrived early at around 12:00pm; the receptionists were very pleasant. Despite the official check in time of 3:00pm, our two rooms were ready early and therefore we were able to check in much earlier than we expected which was very accommodating and a nice surprise. ||Overall, I would be happy to stay at this hotel again but probably not on the riverside unless I was going out late into the early hours myself.

Excellent location. Me and the wife stayed and we had a Superior room on 6th floor overlooking the river, nice room, kingsize bed, really spacious, everything you could need and with iron and ironing board. All staff were polite and helpful and public area's are nice, fresh and clean. Parking no problem we parked in the hotel car park which was £20 per night per stay. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice. The hotel is ideal location for a stay in York. We would definitely stay again when visiting York

Good|Room size, we had a family room for 3 of us. |TV good although no swivel for 3rd bed visibility.|Kettle, tea, coffee and fridge plus safe provided.|Breakfast good, special call out for the runny scrambled egg, so nice to have decent eggs not overcooked. Very pleased with that. Coffee good.|Car park very handy.|Good location for city and restaurants etc.|Staff nice and friendly.||Bad|Shower tray filled with water badly, needs drain cleared.|WiFi wasn’t working throughout hotel.|3rd bed, pull out, needs refreshing. Noisy and springy.|Bed side tables (fixed) not near the bed!|Self check in just annoying frankly but staff on hand any way. Not sure why we had to fill in details for all 3 people, waste of time at check in.

This is the fourth time we have held our RAPTC Military Veterans Reunion event in this excellent hotel after hugely successful events in the previous three years. Once again our event was a brilliant success thanks mainly to the excellence of the hotel, all of the staff and the superb standard of service throughout the whole weekend. In particular, I must single out Valentina Semeraro (Senior Meetings and Events Specialist) who has been my point of contact and could not have been more helpful or efficient in every aspect of organising and managing the weekend functions with very large numbers in attendance. I have received nothing but high praise from my members for the quality of the hotel, the superb staff and excellent service which was faultless throughout. I would also like to thank Chef James and his team who produced the most excellent food for large numbers on both nights, which was served efficiently, piping hot and which tasted absolutely delicious. The Food and Beverage Manager Pankaj made sure that things ran like clockwork both evenings and each and every member of the staff team could not have been more helpful. The hotel is central to the city, close to the train station and has parking which is always a bonus with city centre hotels. The hotel is very modern, clean and the standard of rooms is excellent. I had the pleasure of meeting the new General Manager Amanda Knowles and my sincere gratitude goes to her and her entire team for looking after us so well again. We have established a great relationship over the years and I look forward already to returning for our event next year in 2026.|Dave Smith Secretary RAPTC Military Veterans Association.

Had an enjoyable stay this hotel with friends. Good comfortable rooms and substantial breakfast. The hotel is well located for visiting the centre of York, within walking distance of the railway station, by the river and it has a car park.
