Took away a great Indian meal. Everything was on point and very delicious. Good portions too. Great to find a local restaurant like this in a place like Bakewell.

Stayed at Bakewell for the weekend and thought we would try this place out….id read the mixed reviews & it very nearly put me off but I thought no… let’s make our own mind up. So glad we did! Best Indian meal we’ve had in a long time! We shared onion bhajis (stunning and really creamy) my husband had fish masala and I had garlic mushrooms…wow best thing Iv tasted in ages. I had the lamb tikka masala & my husband had the sizzling meat platter.we shared chips & a garlic naan.
Everything was amazing & the staff couldn’t do enough for you. Next time we’re in Bakewell we will definitely be returning. just a shame they don’t do delivery to Sheffield! 🙂

We picked up a take away from Raja’s this evening - we’d dined in the restaurant before and had a great experience, however the take away this evening was dreadful. Our chicken madras curries had a tasty sauce but it was swimming in oil (at least an inch thick on top of the curry) and very unfortunately there was a thick short curly hair in my food… which needless to say put me off the meal. Sadly won’t be returning!

Had an incredible experience dining at Raja's.
We ordered the chef's favorite Achari Balti (tender savoury, tangy lamb curry) and the Murgh Makhni (a sweet, buttery, indulgent chicken dish in creamy red sauce). On the side we had the Tadka Dal and two mango lassis to wash it all down.

The serving sizes were generous, the service speedy and polite and the price extremely reasonable for the high quality of the food. It tastes freshly made and each curry we ordered was distinct and unique in flavour.

Would highly recommend checking out Raja's.

Date of Visit: 23/04/2024 - The Chicken Madras (dish on the right) was ***VERY*** hot as expected, but also tasty and moreish all at the same time. My wife’s onion rice was delicious, and she enjoyed her main also (Vegetable Rogan Josh) The plain naan bread was lovely and sweet, as were the onion bhajis, however the chips were quite disappointing and tasted strange; so I must remember to definitely give them a miss when we return. The service was excellent from all the staff, especially the owner who clearly has a strong passion for his successful Bakewell business - Thank you to all the staff 🙂

We did takeaway using their own website. The staff were lovely as there was a missing item but all was sorted brilliantly. Food was excellent full of flavour. Will come back again.

Well after such a raving review inside the restaurant for our honeymoon,we returned in our caravan and decided to have a takeaway as we enjoyed it so much & couldn’t wait to return.
had the exact same order as in the restaurant and stated that I DID NOT want any coriander in anything as I’m allergic… waited 40 mins for it to be delivered, was so excited only to open up every single container and coriander was in everything… not slightly either! completely over loaded! All I ate was the chips & the lamb tikka masala. such a shame as I literally recommend this place to anyone that would listen. also bhajis were very greasy, fish masala nothing like what we had in the restaurant. Naan bread dry, and not a lot of lamb in the tikka.
embarrassed that Iv recommended to so many people.
would I visit again in restaurant? no I wouldn’t. Can see why the other reviews say not to go.
restaurant maybe… delivery no.
50/50 chance it or don’t but we won’t be again.
