We stayed in the woodpecker treehouse as a party of 8 for a friend’s 40th celebrations for 2 x nights. Wow - it was amazing from the very beginning. The treehouse was immaculate and beautifully furnished, the beds were so comfy and the service was amazing. Every little touch had been thought of. We had a breakfast hamper which lasted us 2 x mornings with lots left over. We had spa passes and went to the infinity pool, all absolutely fantastic and so relaxing. We ate in fusion on the Saturday evening and the food was lovely and the service great. We didn’t want to come home! Such a luxurious treat, I would love to stay in the treehouse again.

Ample free car parking. Luxurious hotel grounds & rooms. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Spa centre is attached & has a decently sized gym, which is well equipped, 25m pool, jacuzzi, steam room & sauna. Towels are provided. You type in your own 4 digit code for the lockers. I had an excellent back treatment by Jenn. Chloe on Spa reception was a real star. Very helpful, knowledgeable, calm and professional. Even when several families arrived simultaneously, she took time to make them welcome & showed them where they needed to be. All the facilities were high quality & very clean. You can walk to the Park & Ride site at Belmont & be in Durham in 10 minutes on bus PR1.

We stayed in one of the A frame tree houses. We stayed here last year too and it didn't disappoint. It was to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Perfect relaxation. The views are so pretty. Swans on the lake. The private sauna and hot tub are absolutely gorgeous. The bed is huge and so comfortable. Simply perfect!

I had high hopes for a memorable celebration at Ramside Hall for our 3-year anniversary, but the experience was deeply disappointing. After spending £500 for one night, including spa treatments, we were met with a series of frustrations that left us feeling let down.

Upon arrival, we discovered that the hotel had booked us for the wrong treatments, contrary to what we had requested. We had to spend additional time rearranging our appointments to correct their mistake, which only added to our stress. To make matters worse, there was no running water in our hotel room for several hours, making it impossible for us to get ready for our evening plans.

Additionally, several spa facilities, including the cold plunge, were unexpectedly closed. This was especially disheartening given that we had been looking forward to these amenities as part of our special occasion.

When we decided to order room service because we couldn't go out, we were met with further disappointment. The pizza was burnt to a crisp and took an excruciatingly long hour and a half to arrive.

We reached out to reception in hopes of some resolution or compensation but were met with indifference. They merely stated that repairs were underway and offered no real assistance or remedy.

The culmination of these issues meant that our anniversary was far from the special celebration we had envisioned. The entire experience was not just a letdown but a source of significant frustration and sadness, leaving us with a ruined memory of what was meant to be a joyful occasion.

Brilliant Spa, lovely staff, the food was amazing too!
Pretty pricey for what I normally pay for a hotel stay, but absolutely worth it. The grounds are stunning, the room was beautiful and would definitely recommend.

Plus, we had a massage, which was the most relaxing experience!

Location was lovely and the view from our room was gorgeous. The room was very spacious and perfect for a night away to chill. The bathroom had a bath and a shower. The chacoa restaurante food was amazing, would definitely visit again!

Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was huge and well appointed. Unfortunately I had room 201 which appears to be right next to the gym, so thumping bass-heavy music started at 6.30 in the morning. I was up and working at that point but if I'd needed a restful sleep, I'd have been stuffed.

Disappointed. Attended an event at the hotel. Food wasn't fantastic as it's been previously. Toilet facilities really need refurbishing. Overpriced drinks. It's a real shame the management has let it get to this stage. I didn't stay overnight, so I can not comment on the rooms but I hear they are quite pricy. Some friends stayed at a nearby hotel. Lovely staff at Ramside and very helpful.
