I had such a great experience staying at Residence One. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed — the staff were friendly, professional, and made everything feel effortless. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and clearly designed with care. Everything I needed was right there, and I really appreciated the quiet, cozy atmosphere.

One of the highlights of my stay was definitely the breakfast. It was far beyond the typical hotel spread and it was very delicious.

Lovely quiet spot, with plenty of restaurants and bars in the vicinity. Pleasant gardens and coast side walks. Beautiful views. Handy for Plymouth centre via great bus services and easy access by ferries across the Sound/River Tamar.

We stayed last week. You have free parking but you have to register with the restaurant and display a card, also note some locations around the yard are restricted but the lady at the restaurant during check in explained this, this wasn’t a problem and we found parking each time. You obtain your key from the restaurant which is less than 2 min walk so not a problem. Our room was great, the bed and pillows super comfy, shower worked very well, towels very good. The room had openable windows and a Dyson floor fan which was a great touch. I could imagine it may get hot in the summer and there is no AC in there. The room was unique as the toilet and shower were in different little areas within the room but if you want to experience a different room rather than a hotel box room this is the place to stay. We had breakfast which was good (included) and staff all good. The yard is amazing and you can appreciate what the whole redevelopment has brought. Few restaurants and walking access to the coastal path up to devils point.

The place was super quiet at night and we had great sleep. The room was super clean and we had a maid change towels on our 2nd day. There was a communal
Iron and board to use and a key drop off box for departure. Over all a great stay and hassle free experience.

Perfectly situated in the old dockyard. Good pricing. Things to bear in mind, there is no lift, if you are on the top floor it's four flights ,42 steps. Rooms do not have wardrobes, shower trays can be slippery and do not have a shower mat. Shower cubicle not fitted with a safety grab handle.
Breakfast is ok, the cooking of the bacon leaves a lot to be desired , was over cooked and very greasy on two days so gave it a miss on the last day of our stay. The person , who ran front of house and waited upon us was very pleasant, helpful and very keen to ok please. Would go back again, excellent value for money. Whilst there is no designated parking, parking spaces free up early evening and parking is included.

Excellent rooms, excellent location, tried to book the restaurant twice via instructions, however refused twice. Breakfast was nice and the young lady serving was excellent. Apart from the glitch in communication this was an excellent place to stay in Plymouth.

I have stayed at this venue twice when visiting friends in Plymouth. The Royal William Yard is my go place to stay when visiting Plymouth as nowhere else is quite like it.
.
Rooms by Bristrot Pierre is a venue steeped in history and character. Each room is individually designed and is in keeping with the Yard vibe.
.
The rooms themselves are very spacious and offer everything you need with a few additional luxuries thrown in.
.
There are view things to be aware of though, which depending on your own expectations may make this venue inappropriate. Firstly, if you have mobility issues this venue is not for you. One of the drawbacks of the rooms is their accessibility as there are no lifts. Not a problem for me but I can see how this would be an issue for some people. Secondly, the venue is 'rooms' not a full service hotel. So don't expect reception services etc. You get your key from the restaurant across the square but the staff, whilst very professional, are restaurant staff not hotel staff. Thirdly, if you like curtains - forget anywhere in the Royal William Yard. All venues, rented, privately owned, commercial are restricted by some strict listed rules one of which is no curtains or blinds on windows. Instead you have wood shutters, which I personally think adds to the experience and character but others may find their weight and user-friendly quirky feel rather annoying. Again, for me this is totally fine. But others may struggle.
.
The hotel offers free parking, which is a real benefit and breakfast is included and served in the Bistrot Pierre restaurant opposite the rooms.
.
The biggest and best feature of this place is it's location. The Royal William Yard is such an amazing area and this alone makes these rooms a gem in my opinion.
