Great place to stay. Comfortable room (ours has a lovely view out over the river) and generous choice of cooked breakfast. The hosts are a very welcolming couple who generously provided us with an earlier than usual breakfast one day when we were attending an early event, froze cold blopcks for us and keeped cheese, that we had bought, in their fridge until we were ready to leave. Booking.com says there is no parking but there is free overnight parking about 1min walk away which we used.

We came up to Northumbria to pick up an Ebay purchase and chose the Riverside Hotel for our one night stop. We were met by Elaine who was helpful and friendly and she showed us to our room which was spotless and beautifully decorated. There was plenty of tea and coffee in the room which was great as I love my cups of tea.|The bathroom was also spotless with lovely toiletries. The town of Morpeth is well worth a visit with some lovely old buildings and breakfast in the morning was a great start to the day. We parked in the free 24 hour parking down by the river but Elaine had a residents parking token so we could have parked outside if we wanted to. A great night away I just wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you

Only stayed for one night but Elaine was a wonderful host. She made sure we felt welcome and prepared a lovely breakfast in the morning. The room was clean and very comfortable, and we were glad to find a twin room, as not many hotels and guesthouses in the area had this option available. Would gladly stay again.

Stayed in this delightful B&B in August 2023. which I booked direct by phone with the owner Elaine. Comfortable rooms, great hospitality and a lovely breakfast. A short walk from Morpeth town centre, I would definitely recommend it and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Very friendly like home from home very comfy beds and rooms we stayed for 2 night easy walk in to town. Would definitely come back when in the area.

Excellent B&B in the heart of Morpeth. Just had another lovely couple of days with Elaine and Michael at their fabulous Guest House. Do not miss this fabulous little gem in the heart of Morpeth if you are looking for a place to stay. Great food, with excellent selection for breakfast. You will be well looked after.

The welcome was cold and transactional, just like my room which had no heating.||Even though I was the only one staying she didn't think to offer me another heated room (I would have done) said it wasn't her responsibility to fix it. Parking difficult. I had to find a place down the road and walk back in the dark alone after a long journey. ||The house smelled of stake cooking as you walked in. ||There is no way of talking to the owner and booking direct you can only go though booking dot com. Very impersonal. ||The staff seemed unable to make any decisions. Very disappointing. The breakfast lady had a lovely attitude, and made a nice breakfast, but||I won't be recommending it. Sorry

Place was horrible curtains fell down theee times within the night the fire alarm was triggered staff had no idea of how to turn this off. Their was a loud vibrating noise which effected my sleep throughout the night. Check out was 10:30 management wasn’t available until 12:30, once I spoke with him||He stated it was not his responsibility to refund me any funds I’ve paid directly to the hotel due to this I contacted Booking.com where I was told I was the guesthouse responsibility to refund me any funds. The manager clearly is not aware of the process of a customer complaint. I was informed rooms are not checked after a customer has checked out. ||I tend to only stick to hotels due to the high standards and comfort this is my first and last time booking to stay at a guest house.
