Riverview Bakery is an absolute gem, offering an amazing selection of bakery items, from freshly made pies and pastries to, most importantly, their incredible cakes. Everything not only looks fantastic but tastes just as good. There's always plenty to choose from, and they even change up their selection occasionally, keeping things fresh and exciting.

You can choose to dine in or grab something to take away. On Sundays, they serve delicious Sunday roasts—£10 for takeaway or £12 to sit in—which is a great option. Or, if you're just after a quick treat, a takeaway coffee and cake always hits the spot. Their food is consistently fresh and high quality, and one of my personal favorites has to be the sausage, bacon, and egg on toast with avocado and sriracha—absolutely delicious!

Another big plus is how dog-friendly it is, making it a popular stop for walkers heading to or from Chopwell Woods. The welcoming atmosphere, combined with the great food, makes it the perfect spot to relax.

Parking is convenient, with some spaces at the front and a larger, free car park behind the building. And with us moving just a 10-minute walk away in the next few months, we’re really looking forward to making this a regular spot!

I usually go there just for the cakes, and sausage rolls, buy a few and eat them at home, the cakes are good, the sausage rolls seem to have changed from when the place first opened, they where nicer then. Its usually too busy to find a seat, sometimes need to wait.

Have been coming here for 5 years..... there's been disappointing moments before (staff on the counter running their hands through their hair whilst flicking it back - not very hygienic). I've also had a staff member whilst mid-serving me pick up the phone and take a telephone order - sorry but if the business is really busy - regardless you don't serve another customer mid-serving someone else- i was left standing around 4 mins waiting for them to come off the phone - I am sure the staff wouldn't appreciate it if a customer done this whilst you were serving them and had to wait. However the latest set up just doesn't work.
There's always been a queue to order at the cakes counter for the take away items - and in all fairness Riverview you have a giant red sign that says..... sit in orders order here.
So for a takeaway order today waiting by the cakes and abrupt voice said.... if you're ordering from the food menu then you have to order over there - pointing to the place that said sit in orders- queried as it was takeaway- apparently yes..

Then other people started coming down to the cakes side - same abrupt woman asked why - customers stated they were told to go here by another woman- she wasn't impressed and shouted at another member telling them even if they were busy they'd need to come and help out.
Just a personal thought note - you might have better control over the area if table service was offered- there's be no piles of customers hanging around the cakes area - only those ordering to take out
I heard other customers murmuring about how disjointed it was today.
A place to avoid if it continues like that (and I know the owner doesn't like bad reviews - people have been slated on social media plenty of times for complaining about service ' but surely constructive criticism can help)

Love coming here for a cup of tea and cake, I've had the teriyaki hash bowl and it was lovely, all pies, sausage rolls and quiches are amazing and they do a lush roast! We love visiting here, all the staff are welcoming and lovely, it's always busy! There's parking round the back so that's very handy, definitely recommend

Amazing little cafe/Bakery. Just called in for a slice of apple pie and flat white. Amazing quality and taste. Definitely would recommend.

Very disappointed on monday. I ordered bacon bap which when arrived had quite a few specs of mould on the bun. They did replace it in lovely soft brown bread however the bacon was stringy, fatty and chewy probably the worst bacon i have ever come across. I should have also sent that back but by time i noticed was almost half way through it. My wife had poached egg on artisan bread which was slightly soggy due to eggs
not fully drained. We will be back and hope this was down to a bad day in the office as usually it is always spot on with quality and price

Excellent breakfast at Riverview Bakery today....Great start to our 42nd wedding Anniversary.....such a lovely place. Really good food an atmosphere. Out door seating and good parking too at the rear of the building.

Excellent atmosphere, good service and food and bakery are fantastic. Highly recommended. Also dog friendly. In my experience sunday lunchtime can be very busy, but usually clears around 2pm. Definitely going to visit many more times. Parking area at rear of property.
