Stayed here for a wedding. Super convenient as it was very close to all our planned activities.

Offers both a classical bnb experience and also has a more Hotel style room for those who prefer that.

Alison was a great host who made sure to take care of us and offer both a conversation and to let us do our own thing.

Alison ans`Steve were excellent hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them and made us most welcome into their home. The room was a good size and the en-suite bathroom well equipped, both were clean and tidy. The evening meal was very good and the full English breakfast filled you up for the rest of the day. We have no hesitation in recommending Rock Cottage as the place to stay for friends and family when visiting Bristol.

My husband and I stayed here on Saturday night as we were in Bristol for a family party. This was our second time with Alison and Steve and we weren't disappointed. They are such lovely welcoming people and the room did not disappoint. Although we were going to be late coming in Steve waited up for us. The brekfast was superb and beutifully cooked. Richard and I woild have no hesitattion in recommending this lovely couple to anybody. || Jackie and Richard Eames

My wife and I took a two-week vacation in the UK, staying in London, Bristol, Bath, Cardiff, Stratford-Upon-Avon, and back to London. The Bristol Rock Cottage was by far the best place we stayed. It was inexpensive compared to most of the other rooms we had on the trip, while the room itself was by far the largest and most luxurious. The hosts -- Alison and Steve -- went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Although it's a bed-and-breakfast, they made no fuss in arranging a bite to eat on the evening we arrived (nothing fancy, but most appreciated). The breakfast was tasty and filling. We enjoyed telling our hosts about our trip and plans, and we in turn learned about the history of the Rock Cottage. Oh...their cats were nice to have around as well (if you're not a cat person, consider yourselves warned). The in-room coffee/tea station was well-stocked with cookies and crackers. Even now, looking back after two months of returning to the US, the Rock Cottage was one of the highlights of our trip. If we're fortunate to return to the UK someday, we will certainly make a point to revisit to the Rock Cottage.

What a delightful experience, made all the better by the warmness of Alison and Steve. From the beginning we knew that we had arrived at a happy house, it was like going home to see close relatives, we enjoyed the banter, Steve bless him doesn't stand much chance when Alison is in full cry, she has badges for nattering. At morning breakfast we encountered Alison's butties, a masterpiece of engineering between two slices of bread to set you up for the day!! However after 11 days we succumbed to the Full English, cheers Alison. The Cottage was warm and cosy, spotlessly clean, the bed very comfortable, facilities very good. Superatives abound when recollecting our stay, however none will be able to explain our new found feelings for Alison, Steve and Rock Cottage. On our travels we ask three questions, Did we like it, YES, Would we return YES Would we recommend it to others, a RESOUNDING YES!!

I stayed at this B&B while taking an exam in Bristol and really had nothing to worry about except my exam! Steve and Alison are so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble - Steve even gave me a lift and picked me up from the exam centre. The house is a lovely, cosy, family home and the bedroom was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated, with toiletries in the shower and even extra toothbrushes in case you forget yours. The in-room tea and coffee facilities with little chocolates were appreciated. They provide plenty of information about the surrounding area, such as places to visit, restaurants and takeaways for dinner, etc., and there is a Sainsbury's Central within walking distance of the house. There is a very large garden with lots of wildlife (birds, baby foxes) and it is so calm and quiet that it's easy to forget you are close to a big city. I had a lovely stay and will be returning next month.

I had to stay in Bristol for a couple of days and I chose Rock Cottage after reading other reviews and I wasnt disapointed the room was a good size and very comfortable with a nice size bathroom and the breakfasts were lovely, but most of all Allison and Steve made you feel at home and are really nice people so it feels more like visiting friends rather than satying at a b n b. I would definatly recommend Rock Cottage to anyone else that needs to stay in Bristol and I will definatly be going back again when im next in Bristol.
