Just back from week long break at Romansleigh Retreat. Beautiful scenery, loads of great bird watching too. Nigel was really helpful with suggestions for routes etc. Relaxed break in a well equipped clean flat, lovely and warm too. Thoroughly recommend.

Amazing Peaceful Retreat. Stunning scenery beautiful walks. Cabins are spotless well equipped warm cosy. Home from home Linen Towels Toiletries, welcome Pack Tea Coffee, Biscuits, Washing up liquid Dishwasher Tablets..... There is a games room with pool table, table top soccer......Toilets also DVDs to borrow.
The maintenance guy pops by each morning between 9-10am to check hot tub, aside of that you are completely people car noise and light free... complete lock off

Ian the manager is brilliant had a problem with bolier he was there in 4 minutes and sorted it, absolute gem real gent really friendly
We are all ready looking at our next booking here... never been anywhere so peaceful ( We actually loved it that much we tagged 3 extra nights on, We had to move cabins, Ian and the lovely cleaning team made this as seamless as possible)

We stayed in one of the apartments, there are also several lodges that look lovely. Our apartment had been recently renovated, it was very comfortable with a dishwasher. The location is fantastic, overlooking the valley with beautiful countryside all around with lots of walks from your front door. If you're looking for a break with a pub or shops in walking distance, this probably isn't the place for you. If you want to unplug and relax this place is fantastic. There is a games room, which my kids have loved. And in the reception area, you can borrow games and outdoor toys. I'd like to come back at some point, it was a great base to explore.

Just returned from a 3 night stay in Willow Lodge. All I can say is that it was absolutely amazing. The lodge is luxurious, spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The hot tub is the highlight and we made great use of it. Nestled in stunning countryside you could hear a pin drop. Caroline and her team are so welcoming and friendly, great hospitality.|Definitely recommend if you have a dog and they can wander freely and plenty of walks.

Lovely quiet place to stay. Lodges are clean and spacious, with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. We had an issue with electricity on one of our evenings but this was quickly resolved and management kept us informed and offered any assistance we required. Hot tub water was checked twice daily and was reassuringly emptied at the end of our stay. If you're looking for somewhere peaceful to get away to, with few distractions, I cannot recommend highly enough.

I stayed at The Retreat in the Chestnut Lodge (no.10) from 12th-16th September 2022 and WOW! I went with my sister and my dog and I can't put into words how amazing the lodge is! It is super dog friendly, they provided dog bowls and there is a fence around the lodge so we didn't need to worry about the dog getting out and he could potter about as he pleased. The lodge itself was stunning, there was plenty of space and the surroundings were lovely and so peaceful. The hot tub was amazing and one of the main reasons we chose to stay at The Retreat. It is very private being tucked away down the side of the lodge and with a fence behind it too. The staff are also so friendly. We were personally welcomed by Caroline who was genuinely interested in what we planned to do during our stay, where we had travelled from etc. I saw Caroline one morning and she even remembered my name when saying good morning which I felt was a nice touch. Some of the other staff members who checked the hot tub also gave my dog some biscuits and we had a lovely chat and they offered directions for places we were heading out to. Overall, we had an amazing stay and was very sad to leave! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is visiting the area and we cannot wait to return!!

Great lodge. Greeted on our arrival by the host (Jon), with all staff including the maintenance team (Vicar & Pat) making you feel more than welcome over our weekend stay.||Everything you wanted was there. Clean, fresh with spectacular views of the North Devon countryside.||

Absolutely beautiful setting , beautifully stunning lodge , clean & accommodating to our needs.

Hot tub perfect temperature on arrival.

Track road leading up to the retreat isn’t “awful” like I’ve read on many reviews if we can get up in our nissan without any problems anyone can!

Yes is is steep , but being in the countryside of north Devon what would anyone expect…

Hot tub service men are absolutely lovely and very helpful telling us about local places to visit.
Haven’t seen them peering in on purpose at any point.

Highly recommended, you will not be disappointed.
