Both of us on a diet, so only wanted a couple of soups. WOW! The tomato soup was amazing. The pub was bright and modern, the staff couldn't have treated us any better. The toilets were modern, spotlessly clean and even smelt fresh. The menu had really good choice, so much so that we will be coming back again after our diet.

Excellent service - they were very accommodating about our check-in, even though we came exceptionally late. Very easy to find, right on the main road. Very convenient parking situation. It appears they are gradually renovating the rooms - a mixture of old and new furniture and the bathroom appears to have just been updated with modern conveniences (e.g. new shower) without finishing touches (e.g. toilet paper holder). No elevator to get to rooms - stairs only and no first floor rooms, from what I could see. Common kitchen shared by all rooms on second floor. Very simple check-out process. Great Britain and shavers outlets only - provide your own adapters.

I choose this hotel for the convenience of location, it was close to family that I was visiting on the weekend during a business trip. I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I was welcomed by Liz on arrival (as well as all the locals in the bar:) and was shown to a spotless, recently renovated room with a lovely bathroom. |Can't fault anything about my stay and would definitely choose this hotel again.

Stopped for one night after a visit to Edinburgh. Lovely clean rooms and nice beds. The rooms were above the pub on a main road but were suprisingly quiet. There is free parking at the side of the pub and a local chippy up the road. The gentleman in charge of the rooms was helpful and polite. Recommended.

Was not expecting much from this establishment, rooms at pubs are usually pretty basic but fit for a one night business stay in my experience.||Rooms @ The Royal is a little different, I was allocated room 3 which was decorated and furnished to a standard the would put some large hotel chains to shame. Immaculately clean also with all the things you expect present.||The small town of Harthill has little to offer but for business this place is fine given it's proximity to the M8. Great value, I will defiantly return. Recomend.

Firstly, as my friends and I arrived, the hotel had the date we booked wrong. Great start.
We arrived on the 1st January and upon arrival the place was not the most appealing to say the least. It took a while to find the entrance and we had to wait at reception for quite some time, once we finally got noticed we were all then taken into this not so appealing bar, we had old men staring at us and wasn't the best atmosphere to be in. However the man serving us was quite friendly. QUITE.
As the hotel got the dates mixed up when we got to our room the cleaner was still there, it was a shame on her as she was shocked and had to rush however the rooms didn't seem to get tidied well.
In addition, we requested a later check out time and no one got back to us about this. Pretty appalling service if you ask myself.
Wouldn't come back and wouldn't recommend to anyone else. Very expensive as well I forgot to mention this above.

The man who showed us to our room was SO nice. Made us feel really welcome. Really enjoyed stay, would defiantly book again. Clean and comfy room. Really good location. Good bathroom and the breakfast room is great.

Not the kind of place I would use for a honey moon, but its clean and relatively spacious. The bathrooms were nice, the room was right above a pub so it got a little noisy on karaoke night. We only picked it because it was affordable and a stop on a road trip. would pick it again, but for a night only.||Harthill is a one horse town btw, but in a nice way!
