We have ordered a family dinner that costs £88 in total. Everything was disgusting, filled with sugar only, no spices, no garlic, each dish tasted the same. No one finished their portion. Nothing Indian about it. Portions not even big enough for the price. Salad packed in a bag. Highly disappointed! Worst restaurant experience ever! DON’T ORDER, AVOID!

The worst service I have ever received. Place order and had to wait 2 hours and 30 minutes for delivery. whilst they marked the order as delivered to meet their stats.

When the food finally arrived everything was split open and at the bottom of the bag. Merging a vegan dish and meat based dish together. Everything was cold. Absolute awful service and would never order from this place again.

We haven’t ordered for a while and sad to say it had really gone downhill. The food tested old. The onion bhaji was a hard ball of popadoms were supposed to come with 3 different dips but instead we had 2 raita and mango which both tasted awful and smelt bad. Couldn’t eat. Lamb biryani had little
Taste and the lamb chunks were dry. Also tasted old and not fresh. The tandoori prawns were tough as leather. Really disappointed. It’s not cheap so you hope when you treat yourself you will get something nice. But this really was below the normal standard we would expect from them.

After many many orders I’ve placed with rose of bengal I’ve never had a problem. Food has always been tasty, great service from the workers and also hot, Even from the time picking up to getting home. Me personally hasn’t found the food to be too “sweet” from previous reviews but I think that’s just personal taste. Will continue to order from here, definitely recommend the lamb aloo it’s incredible!

Indian food overly catered towards the presumed taste of the western palate. Meaning, full of sugar, a real lack of spice and heat. This is a takeaway straight from the 80/90's. Either these proprietors are not gifted cooks, or unwilling to serve authentic Indian cookery, which would be far better recieved than their luminescent version of the world's best cuisine.

Food was very average and the delivery service poor. On the latter point we were promised our delivery would be 40 minutes from ordering. It took 80 minutes and a further 2 phone calls to receive the order. Will not use the service again. Spice in Elmstead Market is better in all ways.

Had dinner delivered from here on New Years Eve and loved it so much we ordered again a couple of days later. Rose special king prawns were the best prawns ever apparently, from someone who has eaten prawns far and wide, and i was blown away too, both times we ate from there. Highly recommended.

We have had deliveries from this establishment many times and they have always been delicious. Tonight was exceptional- the gentleman taking my order said it would take an hour as everything is prepared freshly- I said that we were ‘so hungry’ and we joked about this. He said he would try to make it quicker- 40 minutes later we had the most wonderful meal delivered. I cannot recommend the Rose of Bengal highly enough- the food is perfectly spiced, tender, hot and the service is cheerful, friendly and professional. The price of the meal is very good value and we are so lucky to have this treasure in Brightlingsea. Thankyou Rose of Bengal for such a gorgeous supper tonight!
