I caveat this review by mentioning that I am writing my opinion based on ordering from the companies website, I have never visited their shops.

I first saw coffee from this company on sale as a guest roaster in a shop I visit a handful of times a year. I didn’t buy any that day but always kept them on my list to buy one day. That happened to be in the last month.

I originally had some concerns with my order (I won’t go into details) that was followed up by a quite honest conversation with someone that (I think?) was the owner. This was refreshing and if anything I now write this review to highlight just how good these guys are with communication and listening to their customers, which is great to see when so much of the coffee world in the UK is dominated by a handful of chains.

I’ll not comment on the taste of the coffee I purchased as that is very subjective, but I’d definitely recommend that fellow coffee nerds give these guys a try if you get the chance.

As a 44-year-old lifetime tea drinker who has always recoiled at the mere thought of coffee, discovering Routes Coffee at The Absent Pony in Brockenhurst has been nothing short of revolutionary. Despite decades of failed attempts and genuine aversion to coffee, their brew has accomplished the impossible – it's made me a convert.

What makes this even more remarkable is that I've since tried coffees at other establishments, only to confirm my original distaste. Yet here I am, making daily pilgrimages to The Absent Pony, eagerly anticipating my next Routes coffee beans.

The quality and craftsmanship they bring to their beverages sets them apart in a way I never thought possible and I have heard that they are so supportive of their clients learning to make a good cup.

I can’t even believe that I’m writing a coffee review! 😆

For someone who spent four decades adamantly avoiding coffee, to now exclusively seeking out Routes' offerings speaks volumes. If there were double the stars available to give, I'd award them all. They haven't just served me a drink – they've changed my entire perspective on coffee."

The revised version:
- Creates a clear narrative arc
- Emphasizes the unique selling point (converting a lifelong coffee avoider)
- Uses more descriptive language
- Maintains authenticity while being more polished
- Organizes thoughts into clear paragraphs
- Adds context about the location
- Emphasizes the exclusivity of your preference for Routes Coffee

Great quality coffee that is worth a walk. If you like strong Arabica coffee, made with love, on a good quality clean coffee machine, definitely check this place out.

I bought the #10 Ethiopia Guji beans from Routes. I brewed it as a V60 - it was super clean, light, sweet and floral. Best coffee I've had in a while. Speedy delivery too! Would highly recommend.

I came across this roaster at the London Coffee Festival. They had two stunning filter coffees on offer. I then ordered from their website a delicious washed Ecuadorian coffee and they sent it all the way to the US for me.

The coffee from these guys rocks! I've been to their operating warehouse where they roast and create their own blends of coffee and it was a delight. Coffee always delivered with a smile and good cheer. Love it.

Tried these guys' coffee at the silicon milk roundabout event in London and no coffee I've had since has ever lived up to it. That's something coming from someone who never buys outside coffees because I like them made 'my way' 🙈
