Friendly staff, great breakfast and 1812 bar was very enjoyable too. The rooms are dated but the bed was comfortable and where we were on the 3rd floor gave us respite from the nightclub “music” which we had been warned about. We slept well on both Friday and Saturday night but I can understand other floors or locations could have been noisy. We were warned about the night club when we booked. Easy check in and out experience and good parking.

Just come back from my fourth stay at this lovely hotel and I couldn’t fault it at all! The staff are always so lovely and welcoming, from the reception staff to the breakfast staff and the breakfast is one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had in a long time. It’s very cheap to stay and the hotel is a lovely old building and is always very clean and welcoming. And bonus is the car park is o cheap and there’s always spaces to park. Love staying here and will definitely be back soon!!! ?

Have stayed at this hotel for the past 15 years, it used to be a hotel that you would struggle to book however rooms were available on the night. We found out this was due to the 1812 turning into a nightclub until 4am. My 82 year old mother had no sleep until gone 5am with earplugs. Had to pay £15 for breakfast PP, £8 to park the car. This is all new compared to when we used to stay here. Will never stay here again. A beautiful Hotel gone downhill to generate more money with a nightclub! Not worth £120!!

One Night stay in central location Hotel. Good Service from Reception and all Staff. Good Value at £70 including Breakfast, served by a Female Staff Member who was very attentive. Adjoining Secure Carpark. Good Rooms in a busy Function Location.

Totally agree with another review. We stayed Saturday night, the noise from the nightclub was really bad. The whole room vibrated with the bass. Got no sleep until the early hours.|This was such a shame as we've stayed before midweek and had no problems.

This hotel is good enough, BUT .... I stayed on a Friday night and discovered it has TWO nightclubs .... one which closes at 1am and the other at 4am ! I had a single room on the 1st floor and I went to bed around 11pm when the nightclub was getting busy. The problem was the constant thumping bass beat sound which was actually causing the bedroom window to vibrate. I didn't sleep until this stopped at 4am. My three friends. also in single rooms on the 1st and 2nd floors, also noticed the same thing and didn't get much sleep either. ||On arrival, when we checked in, the guy on reception mentioned the noise situation and offered ear plugs ! I already had some of my own as it happened but for me they made no difference. I imagine the nightclub is possibly only open on Fridays and Saturdays, but I'm guessing and could be wrong ?||I really think the hotel should make customers aware of this before they book. Telling you on checking in and offering ear plugs isn't good enough in my opinion. I've looked at their website and see no mention of the noise situation ?||The room was ok, nothing special. It seemed like every floorboard creaked when I walked around. Also, I couldn't open any windows to let fresh air in once I woke in the morning after 3 hrs sleep. In fact it looked like they've never opened to me.||The staff were all polite though.
