Building is dated along with the furniture but all's ties in together and is a very pretty building inside. May need some TLC but wasn't any issues for us!! Had a sea view room and was great! Staff very helpful, towels and bedding was extremely clean! Looking forward to returning!

Booked sea view room for special weekend but asked to move as bathroom door was leaning against wall and couldn’t move so couldn’t shut it, dead fly on inside of window, masking tape on windows inside, room not been dusted, etc. was shown another room which was slightly better, but later we found windows full of cobwebs and window ledges not dusted, plug sockets didn’t work, only one cup for tea or coffee when there was two of us, and teaspoon covered in paint! Anyway, went for breakfast next morning and was ok, not hot tho. Stairs hadn’t been hoovered, nowhere dusted, and don’t take any notice of the photos on website because the courtyard is disgusting. Not been used for years. Dirty, rubbish lying around and pigeons everywhere. Admittedly the new owner did try to make amends when we complained but we won’t be coming back. I agree with the other reviews on here. The hotel is old, dirty, smelly, needs a complete refurbishment. Bar isn’t open. We only saw one waiter doing breakfast in dining room. Didn’t see cleaner at all. I’ll try and upload photos of the room(s) we were given but if I can’t, please don’t waste your money on this hotel. It closed during the pandemic, and shouldn’t have re opened without a complete refurbishment. There are much better ones in Great Yarmouth. Even Premier Inn is better than this.

Diabolical hotel. THEY LOCK GUESTS IN OVERNIGHT! Avoid! |They refuse to refund despite charging for breakfast which they don’t provide. DIRTY, SMELLY rooms, no wi-fi, broken TV. Unheated room. Guest get the bed had already been slept in and not changed.|Customer services based in Egypt. Won’t assist guest in any way. They accused guest of lying when they couldn’t exit the hotel….claiming they could easily unlock the front door. The guest had to wait for a man to unlock the main door from the outside. |MASSIVE FIRE RISK! 😡|Booked the two night stay through Booking.com who also DO NOT CARE! They have washed their hands of this disastrous booking saying the refund has to be approved by the hotel. |Shocked that this hotel is still in business.|IT SHOULD NOT ACCEPT BOOKINGS FROM HONEST GUESTS.

Booking for me and my partner for his birthday......Wait for nearly 2 hour for check in as couldn't find our booking but the guy was only started four days in working and was helping as best he could finally got a room but had to move as we had problems and then we had to move again from the next room as there was problems again with TV and bath and shower.... we was about to go elsewhere but finally we got a ok room that they seem to not let out which is a shame as have a nice sea view

Hotel is currently CLOSED DOWN with no notification on door or website. We waited over an hour on the doorstep for our pre-paid booking, knocking and trying to phone for help (but phone line cut off), before a man happened to turn up to tell us all bookings has been transferred. We did have a booking at the hotel he told us to try (The Dolphin) but there was nothing to tell us that!

Dirtiest hotel ever. The hotel smells like a second hand shop.had to move rooms twice,1st room had plaster falling off the ceiling and the sink was leaking, second room hadn't been cleaned from the previous occupants. The third room was better except shower head wouldn't stay up ,but couldn't be bothered to complain again. The breakfast was cold the first two mornings so didn't try a third.
The only positive I can give this hotels is that the staff was very good, Julie on reception couldn't do enough to help and the location was excellent. I won't be going back EVER and would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone

Very disappointing stay. Firstly there was no hot water in the shower, we tried at both 5.30pm and again at 7.30am.|The TV didn't work at all. My child cut her foot on a staple that was sticking out of the bed base.|We got into bed at 10.30pm to discover large blood patches visible through the sheet! It was very late, so I just pulled the mattress protector off. Fortunately the mattress looked very clean, so we just replaced the sheet but were pretty disgusted.|Breakfast is extremely basic. Just a bowl of Weetabix or packs of 'fruit and fibre' or a few cornflakes in a tub, no bread, fruit or yoghurt.|You get a few slices of toast when you order tea or coffee. Cooked breakfast was better but the sausages were awful, definitely didn't taste like pork, they were very odd.|There was nobody on reception in the morning to address any of this issues, so we just left the key as others had done.|On the bright side, the staff seemed friendly enough.

Great value seaview hotel - much better than some reviews would have you fear. Friendly staff, good breakfast, building full of character and historic interest. Room - by normal standards - clean, leaving no grounds to complain. Very much enjoyed my stay.
