Walm welcoming. We attend nearly every Sunday as a football team and have a few drinks and food. Food is nice and we have a different selection each week. The manager is spot on. Will help you in anyways needed. Always welcomed to go back each time.

This place has gone down hill fast. This is the worst hotel I have stayed in, dirty rooms, facilities that don't work. Wouldn't let me in late after I had phoned the hotel and made a 300 mile journey by car. Not impressed at all. The room and corridors smelled of smoke and weed. Reminds me of the film ,Hostel., My shower wouldn't work, it came out everywhere . The food was cold and overcooked. Back in the day this hotel was great. Time for the bulldozers or a competent new owner.

We come weekly for a meal. The young man who manages the bar (Lewis) is always friendly and smiling. The food since the pub changed management is excellent and great value..in fact totally transformed (cheap and you get plenty) and it has a nice, comfortable atmosphere with parking. Lovely pub and hotel now. Well done everyone there. Xx

Staff are lovely Rooms are shocking |The lady behind the counter was lovely and very friendly however the rooms are in need of a refurb. Lighting in the room is bad, very dim or flickering however there was enough light in the bathroom. The mattresses are pointless as you just sink straight to the divan. The door to the room looks like it has been kicked in at some point and the wardrobe is missing a door. Bed headboard heavily warn out and the walls... Well. I Think initially a paint job and bulbs that work and bright enough to do your makeup up would make a huge difference. Really not worth the price, if it was 40 quid I'd write a cracking review and it would be value for money.

The lady behind the counter was lovely and very friendly however the rooms are in dire need of a refurb. Lighting in the room is atrocious some lamps missing some just very dim or flickering. The mattresses are pointless as you just sink straight to the divan. The door to the room looks like it has been kicked in at some point and the wardrobe is missing a door. This place was probably lovely in the 60s 70s but needs to have sone money spent to bring it up to date

The food was absolutely disgusting. We ordered at the same time and one meal arrived and we waited a further ten minutes for the others. There must be a shortage of fries at the Royal as you would get a better portion in a happy meal. As for the rest of the food very greasy no flavour. The male member of staff was very cocky and rude. We will not be eating here again

Great local pub . Always the best for sports and a short walk to the football ground . Zane as always be on hands on to help and have a good laugh with the customers and locals ... Zane will be missed when he moves on to a new pub. All the best Zane.

I stayed for 1 night on a business trip, the rooms were adequate and clean but a little outdated.
The breakfast was nice and served fast and hot with a fair amount of choice.
The staff are where this place shines though. The two I saw were Zane and Jenny, they was very polite and friendly which makes a big difference in my opinion. They went above and beyond for me to make sure I had everything I needed.
I would recommend especially considering how close it is to the towns center.
