Really nice caravan park. All staff were pleasant. Caravan itself was absolutely spotless. Well equipped, and everything you need in place. The only reason I marked down to 4* was due to wait times for a cuppa, 45 minutes is a bit much, and some of the food places not being open to the times clearly stated on their windows. Apart from that, everything else was lovely. Nicely situated close to a village with lots of food places to dine at or just to have a coffee whilst out exploring. Dog friendly which is always a bonus.

We have a caravan that is in a fantastic location that looks over the site and the sea. We and our guests love staying at Ruda. The site is clean and the club house and shops are enough, particularly if you are focused on the beach, walking, cycling, coasteering , surfing etc.|It is also a good base to get to places such as Ilfracombe, Barnstaple, Putsborough and Braunton for the famous Fish n chips. The area of Croyde is mainly unspoilt and we all feel its a good place for a relax and chill.|A new Swimming Pool is being built for the New year 2025

Liked: Very well organised site with all the facilities needed (small shop, laundrette, pop-wash, toilets/showers, wetsuit showers, chemical waste disposal) all in very good condition alongside the clubhouse/bar providing evening entertainment if wanted and multiple activities throughout the day to help keep any children entertained. For us, the close proximity to the beach was great and the reception staff were very helpful when we had difficulty using the allocated grass pitch. For the last half term of the season we thought it was very well priced.

Disliked: A little commercial for us travelling as a couple during the tail end of the season and some of the grass pitches were challenging to get into with very wet/muddy conditions. The cost could rise significantly if you had children and wanted to take part in many of the additional activities.

Liked: Location is great at Ruda. Right on the beach at Croyde and a 20 minute drive over to Woolacombe. The Thatch pub in Croyde is always a win! Great food and atmosphere.

Disliked: The park is tired now. I have been going for years, but the facilities are slipping. Dirty, in need of real maintenance and just falling apart. The swimming pool is being re-done which is great as it was dirty and just too small for the size of the park. Arcade is expensive and not very good prizes for your tickets.

The sand Art only takes 10 minutes, with limited colours and tiny little sand jars. In my opinion, not worth the money.

The caravan parking was awful and the steps to the van very unsafe especially for my mum on crutches. The slide in the pool was shut down and windows were filthy couldn’t see out the pool area. The caravan itself was clean and did the job for a saver caravan but definitely not suited for 6 people which it’s says can hold.
My daughter did the make a bear and she loved it Jack was great and lovely to my daughter made her experience worth the money. So thank you.

Liked: Check in was incredibly easy and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The campsite was brilliant, very close to the beach and had lots of options for eating out. Surf board hire from Offshore surf shop was good value for money. Wash/ toilet facilities were kept clean. Will definitely be returning.

Liked: Location location location! Cannot fault this. Up on the cliff so you can see the ocean from the campsite which is beautiful. The beach is perfect too.
Loved the swimming pool and the rapids are very fun for all ages although the slide was out of order which was disappointing.
Campsite was wonderfully clean and looked after for the most part and we really enjoyed our stay.

Disliked: My main issue really is just the price if things here, you do end up feeling a bit like they are taking advantage of the lack of nearby shops to really rinse you. Nearly £3 for a small bottle of pop, £1.70 for water, £3 for packets of crisps etc from the shop, then the on-site takeaways were extortionate too, £13 for chicken and chips from the fried chicken place and nearly £5 for a small portion of chips from the chippy and £6.50 for a Cornish pasty!! You definitely feel like they’ve got you over a barrel as there’s no shops nearby. Definitely bring your own food wherever possible.

The slide being out of order was disappointing especially as it wasn’t specified before booking but on the email I got the day before we arrived they stated that it was out of order for all of 2024 - This should be on the booking site really.

My only other issue is that the feminine hygiene bins really need to be emptied twice daily as by the afternoon every day they are overflowing which is quite off putting.

Liked: I had an amazing stay, the weather was terrible so I visited the restaurant a few nights and the staff were warm and welcoming, the food was amazing!! 5* to the chef. The touring facilities were very clean, love the shower cubicle’s, hair dryers too! Great place to stay solo, felt very safe with 24hr security too.

Disliked: My only advice is that it weren’t the best being given a pitch that had no grass left so this became mud, there were lots of empty grass pitches so would be best to let them out and give the ones that had none time to grow
