Steph & Ned have a beautiful home and made us feel very welcome. We messaged the night before our stay to say due logistics we would arrive in Town Yetholm earlier than check in time.
Steph said it was no problem to arrive a couple of hours early, which was very kind..we visited the pub for lunch and also the visitor center prior to checking in to Rutherford House.
Homemade cake and biscuits with refreshments were enjoyed in the beautiful seating area adjacent to our bedroom..
With a view of the village green and beautiful Trees.

Great nights sleep and lovely toiletries and towels, attention to detail was faultless.
Ned made us delicious porridge for breakfast ready for our long days hiking over the Cheviot Hills. Homemade preserves and delicious toast were also enjoyed and a chat about Marmalade making with Step.
A cooked breakfast was also offered and I'm sure would of been excellent.

We would definitely like to return to Rutherford House to see Steph & Ned in the future and hopefully enjoy more delicious food and hospitality.
A memorable stay and definitely the best accomodation on our St.Cuthburts Way walk.

Steph and Ned are excellent hosts. They are very welcoming. The room is nicely decorated with everything you might need for a stopover. This was easily the most comfortable stay of my St. Cuthberts Way walk, by far. A wide range of breakfast options with very good homemade tattie scones. Steph supplied a very welcome packed lunch. I would highly recommend Rutherford House.

Rutherford House is a great place to stay to get away from life for a while. Great location, super quiet, lots of walks. Great amenities on the doorstep and attractions close by. Need and Steph were great hosts with valuable local knowledge. Room is bright and airy and very comfortable. Breakfast was superb. I will visit again.

Absolutely fabulous stay at Rutherford House, lovely room with little touches that made my stay perfect. The local pub and hotel were fully booked when I was there so Steph offered me some of their evening meal so I wouldn’t go hungry which was so kind of them. Amazing breakfast also. Would give this 10 stars if I could.

We loved our stay here. Ned and Steph have thought of all the small details - from outlets for plugging in international cell phones to places for drying wet clothes and boots. Bed was comfy, breakfast was delicious, and the packed lunch was the best we had all week!

Dinner was a short walk away in Kirk Yetholm, which you should definitely check out while here.
