This is a lovely place to escape the rat race. We have stopped 3 times and each time has been lovely. Most recently we used a third party deal and had what the hotel call a compact room. If you like space avoid these. It is possible to bruise your shoulder on the tv while traversing the room from the bathroom to the door. Be warned, you get what you pay for and we didn’t pay much at all. The restaurant is very nice and the service very good. We were stopping half board and the supplements for an above and beyond meal are very reasonable. If you want pretentious silver service go to the ritz. This place is just lovely and human.

Had a lovely stay with my partner and our dog. The room we had was large, clean, warm and well decorated with a very luxurious feel how ever the lighting was a bit dull and made it feel like you needed 2 or 3 lights on at night just to not fall over the dog (a black lab).

The addition of a doggy wlcome pack was brilliant and our lab made great use of the tennis ball

Breakfast is a buffet style but perfectly done and a excellent quality.

All the staff happy to help, pleasant and talkative.

We were told the pool and spa area are under some renovations but we used it and couldn't tell so well worth a visit.

Lovely weekend stay we stayed in the old part and the room was really nice if not a bit smaller than expected the bathroom was very large and had a nice shower. The bedroom was very warm and cozy and the bed was extremely comfortable.|The breakfast had a great selection and something for everyone, nice hot food selection. Would have liked to been offered a pot of tea rather than having to use the coffee machine aside from that very good.|The pool was closed when there as it was under renovation so didn't get to try out so will have to come for a return visit.|Staff nice and Friendly

It is fair to say it is a little bit pricey but what you are paying for it rather good, if not rather interesting.||I was expecting the location to be a hotel but essentially it’s more of a lakeside holiday park, albeit a more upmarket one. There’s a combination of A frame style lodges, self catering apartments in converted buildings, and hotel rooms in the old Manor House and two blocks near by. I knew I was not in the main house but the hotel area was not what I expected; it was much smaller (good thing, less banging door and traffic etc) and everything was outside.||On arrival, I had booked a cosy double but they were selling much bigger standard doubles for £5 less. I didn’t ask for any money back but I did ask to have the bigger room which they obliged with. The cosy double would have been around the back of the block with a view of a wall or bankside, which is what my friends had in two different rooms, whilst I was at the front on the top floor and due to it being December with no leaves on the trees I had a lake view of Rutland Water.||The room was nicely sized, well equipped, very comfortable bed and nice tea/coffee facilities. Yeh heating provided pictures on the wall was a bit strange, they threw out a lot of heat so rolling over in bed at night to face one of them you could get a suntan (almost!). The bathroom all worked well, slightly that the door was hung what seemed to be the wrong way around, but fair enough.||Most of the leisure facilities were closed for refurbishment, which knew at the time of booking. It would have been nice to try the pool and looked like it was mid refit; from what looked original and what looked new by looking through the window, it looks like a refurbishment was overdue. I called into the spa hoping to get a last minute treatment as I had some spare time but it was not open yet, the lady on reception was really lovely though.||There were other facilities which did look like they could do with some TLC. The crazy golf course looked rather boring and in need of a good clean, there was a pitch and putt with amazing lake views but did not look to have any flags out (it was very windy though), and bowling green that said closed but with some work and perhaps replacing the astroturf could be a nice spot. That said it would probably be more successful as some sort of multi sports court for families staying in the self catering.||Outside most areas looked well cared for although some slabs could have done with replacement or repainting hand rails on steps where it’s quite a hilly site.||There was a wedding venue with a stunning outdoor view covered area. We ate in Blossoms restaurant which was very nicely fitted out, very modern and spacious, really friendly bar staff. Had the festive menu and each course was well timed (although we had pre ordered), stunningly presented and really tasty. I had the nut roast which is far easier to get wrong than right, it was great. Back to the same restaurant for the inclusive breakfast, lots of choice, good quality and friendly service.

The hotel and grounds are lovely. The staff in the blossoms restaurant are brilliant, thank you to Nicola for looking after us. The afternoon tea was fabulous, but dinner was less impressive. |My only two issues with our stay are; the walls are very thin in the rooms. We could hear the conversation of the couple in the room next to us, and the beautiful lake is not accessible from the hotel grounds, we had to jump over a fence to reach it. |Regardless of the two issues, we will definitely be returning in the near future. Thank you!

We had a great family twixmas break here. The lodge was very comfortable and well equipped (though bigger mugs would be appreciated!)|The overnight storage heaters were a little inconvenient and a team member showed us how to boost the heating and hot water supply. |The views from the lodge were great and we enjoyed walks and crazy golf in the grounds as well as using the swimming pool. |We ate at Blossoms and enjoyed a family meal which we had preordered with a discount as part of the Christmas promotions.

I came on trip advisor to see what experience other people have had at the Rutland Park Hotel and was very surprised to see that it was very different to the experience we had this weekend! We went for my partners birthday and we stayed in one of the apartments which was very nice and really good for what we paid for it. The problem we had was with the restaurant and the staff there. The staff were generally rude to us. We went to reception on our first morning to report that the shower wasn't working and that the room dropped quite cold in an evening so could we possibly have some more heaters as the ones in the room are storage heaters. The young girl on reception seemed to take offence to this but said that she would get maintenance to take a look. The shower was fixed when we got back later that day so that was fine but no extra heater had been provided. I had booked a table at Blossoms restaurant to celebrate my partners birthday and we went in beforehand to make sure that they could accommodate his diabetic diet which they said they could. When we got there they sat us at a small table which was like a canteen style table. We asked to be moved to somewhere nicer but they moved us to a similar table instead of one of the nice booths. My partner ordered the salmon and asked if he could just have it with vegetables, the girl that took our order was pleasant and said it was no problem. But when the meal arrived it had mash and was covered in sauce. So they took it back and it returned with mash and peppers but no sauce. The third time it just arrived with a very small amount of chopped peppers and the salmon was small and not cooked very well, even the waiter looked embarrassed when he put it down. So my partner just ate it as I had already finished my meal. We told the restaurant manager about this but he wasn't really interested and just said there would be no charge for the meal. Which was not the point, we had gone out for a birthday celebration and ended up eating separately and having a very poor meal and experience. |We had the room booked until Monday morning but decided to go home Sunday. When my partner went to check out the man on reception was very rude to him, he acted like we were causing an inconvenience to them by checking out early and actually muttered something under his breath which my partner questioned him about. He said that the bill wasn't ready and that we had an outstanding meal to pay for (which I assumed is the salmon that the restaurant manager said we wouldn't be charged for), and electric at the apartment which was on top of the price per night. During the whole booking process I was not told about paying extra for electric and I think its disgusting that they would try to do this. |Another issue was that we were never really told about the facilities at the hotel when we checked in. We had to go looking for the gym and pool (which was cold) and then find the leisure reception where you have to go to book in. It seemed like a hassle so we didn't bother.|We don't normally complain about things but I am just disappointed that my partners special weekend was not as we had expected. And it is such a lovely place, and setting that it could have been ideal. We will not be returning.

We booked a two night stay over Christmas, and we were SO impressed, we booked an extra night! Every single member of staff could not have been any more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, especially helping my elderly parents. At every meal, our food was amazing. Our rooms were freshly decorated and extremely comfortable. We were thoroughly spoilt the whole time ! Thank you to each and everyone for making our Christmas extra special.
