Absolutely perfect location and a fraction of the price of much of the rest of South sea. Don't book this guest house expecting luxury, but what you DO get is a comfortable, clean bed in an en suite room. Perfect if you are only staying one night and sampling the night life and restaurants of the area. Yes, it could do with a lick of paint and the shower was temperamental but otherwise we'd have no hesitation in staying again. Stairs all the way so wouldn't be suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Upon arrival, greeted with a lovely man who had nothing on his mind but helping us.
He was very friendly and got us booked in and settled very quickly.
After booking in, he wished us a good night and told us to enjoy the sites and local nightlife.

Rooms amazing and a great location.

Booked in this place last minute as was working in the area. First impressions were good and i was directed to room 11 on the top floor. My room had a shared bathroom, the bathroom had seen better days and there was a toilet and bath but no sink!. My room had a double bed and a single. The double was rock hard and the single was ok. The tv was small and i could not get a reception, the room had a small sink with no plug and some of the paint was coming off the walls. The carpet was past it. The room had free tea and coffee however the uht milk was out of date so i could not even have a cup of tea. I decided not to have breakfast. It is a real shame as it is a beautiful building but need money spent on it. Yes it was cheap but i would rather pay a bit more. Think only fools and horses jolly boys outing when they stay at the only b+b available and you get the impression.

Received a lovely welcome and was directed to the family room, which was in fact two rooms (5 & 7). The bigger of the two rooms overlooked the common and had a lovely sea view. ||The rooms were not the most modern, but if you are looking somewhere to stop overnight to get a good nights sleep, then I would recommend this place. ||Thank you for a lovely stay and a great start to our holiday!||Just to give you a heads up that you can get a parking permit for outside the hotel in return for a £20 deposit. If you are leaving early as we were, the parking is free after 6pm. You can hand the permit in, and get your money back. Then no one loses out!

The hotel room is clean and beds are comfortable the views are amazing over looking southsea common and the sea . The hotel is situated within a 2 minute walk to the beach and all the activities there . I am very happy with this friendly hotel I will keep coming back I love it here . If I could give it 6 stars I would.

The Rydeview Guest House is great. We stay here often 'en route' to France and ferries. The staff and owners are very friendly kind people. It's basic but very clean, very tidy and very quiet. I can only recommend this place.....and it's only 5mins walk from local pubs and restaurants. Keep up the good work Rydeview Guest House.

i have read the reviews on this site and I am amazed by some of them. ||I have just arrived home after staying at the Ryde View for nearly a week.||When I arrived the staff were extremely pleasant and when I got into the room it was bright , airy and extremely clean.||As far as the breakfasts go , I had breakfast on the third day of my stay and yes it was exactly what I asked for ,, a full English ,||There were plenty of cereals available and you could have as much toast as you could eat , along with butter and a choice of four or five flavours of jam.||On the third day I noticed that the cold water tap was not running as well it could do, So when I went out that morning , I didn't complain but just mentioned the fact.||When I returned a few hours later , it had been sorted out.||I would like to mention the lady who does the room cleaning, She is extremely pleasant and friendly with a lovely smile, and will sort out any issues you may have.||If you want a hotel that costs around £100 pounds a night, then find one and yes you can then be finicky about everything. ||But if you want a modest , clean and comfortable hotel with affordable prices then try the Ryde View.

Wanted a room close to my son's uni halls for 2 nights & this was ideal 5 minutes' walk away. The owner was very welcoming and helpful and the room was clean and large. It was a family room with a double & 2 single beds and still had plenty of floor space, a 2 seater sofa & a couple of other chairs. The ensuite was clean & functional.||||Lovely old-fashioned room, if a bit tired, but in keeping with original decor (high ceilings, bay window, dado & picture rails, candelabra style light & decorative ceiling coving). Location of room, on the ground floor, next to the front door was a little noisy at odd times (2am/4am with people coming/going) but the double glazed windows kept the street noise at bay & daughter very pleased with the free wifi (even if it did drop out occasionally). Beds a little too soft for my liking but the loan of a parking permit during our stay was a huge bonus as the metered parking outside is pricey (paid a £20 deposit for the permit which was returned when I gave it back).||||5 minute walk from Southsea sea front, amusements & hovercraft terminal & facing on to Southsea Common. Had breakfast one day which was a very reasonable £5 per person cash pay as you go charge with help yourself cereal, fruit juice, hot drinks, toast & full english or any variation thereof brought to your table.
