This was our stop off point on a ten mile circular walk so we were definitely ready for coffee.
It was a warm day so lots of people were sitting outside at tables; on reflection it seems strange that the tables didn’t have sunshades but it didn’t seem a problem.
We sat inside.
Service was pretty quick and the coffee was good; hubby enjoyed his scone. I didn’t have anything to eat but there was an impressive array of cakes by the entrance and sausage rolls etc on the counter.

Lovely little cafe. The cakes are delicious and the staff were friendly. Cute cafe amongst a lovely historical site. Definitely worth a visit and a great place to stop after a walk in the countryside.

I have been a customer of Sails Café for many years and every visit has been faultless. I reserved some tables for my wedding reception and the team were absolutely fantastic as always. They're extremely efficient and very friendly. The food was delicious and the staff did well getting the food out on time as there were lots of us to cater for, all at once. Thank you all for going above and beyond and making my day that bit more special.

Brilliant place! Adjoining Sails Café is the most resplendent, towering windmill overlooking you in the courtyard. This place is well worth visiting. The 1821 windmill is a Grade 2 listed building and is the last working windmill in East Yorkshire. The windmill wasn't open when I visited though. The council bought the mill in 1969 for £1! After renovations it was opened in 1974 as a working museum. The courtyard acts like a walled garden trapping in the heat, but fortunately the outdoor seating is shaded. There is indoor seating too. The staff are friendly and efficient. There is a fantastic range of homemade cakes. I can heartily recommend the carrot cake. It is juicy, moist, deliciously tasty, one of the best I've had. Good, chunky portion too. Definitely revisiting here. Great setting. Most enjoyable.

It's OK. Depends on who you get as to whether they're friendly or not. Food is average. Nothing to write home about. Last time we went we ordered drinks, 2 of them being cans of coke. Proper original red coca cola cans that were in the fridge in the cafe. They said to go and sit at our table outside and they would bring them out. Drinks arrived with the coke poured into glasses and no sign of the cans. Didn't think much of it until we tasted them. Pretty much 100% sure it wasn't normal coke but a cheap alternative. Didn't bother saying anything as how would we have proved it but haven't been back since.

Very average, had to wait to be served with no one in front of me. Ordered from what I had seen on the website as couldn’t see a menu and wasn’t offered one. Prices are not up to date on the website and information is incorrect. When questioning I got a terse reply. Need to do your homework and keep your website up to date on prices and what is included eg. with a Scone, jam, clotted cream and butter,
