The custard pastries were the most scrumptious I have ever tasted. I have eated a lot of custard pastries in my life, and these were without doubt the most exquisite - light, fluffy, I was in heaven. Great coffee and lovely staff. I am not a local, but would certainly travel for an hour and a half again just to visit this lovely place with the delicious aromas! The food looked amazing.

I've been going to the shop in Hayes since it opened & consider it a real local gem - the food is always fresh & of great quality; the menu selection is always superb, I am a vegetarian & there is always plenty of choice; the service is quick, accurate (not to be underestimated!!) & friendly.. I have taken friends & family for tea/coffee/cake and it's been great.

Based on this experience, I had no hesitation in asking if they would cater a small, informal, get-together with friends. The process was so easy & straight forward thanks to Ollie being super efficient & helpful, he guided us when picking a selection of hot & cold dishes and provided all the necessary serving equipment to make sure the food was at it's best on the night.

I am surprised by some of the previous reviews - I have always found Ollie & his team to be very professional, friendly & willing to engage whenever I have questions (which is quite often as I'm nosy/interested). For me, it's not just about the food or the service (both of which are great), but the overall ethic & community spirit - all of which is clearly evident and makes this one of my top 3 "go-to" places.

We've been using Salt and Slate regularly for some time now and recently needed catering for a birthday party for 30 people. It was amazing, fresh, flavoursome and perfect for a party. Highly recommend.

Thoroughly recommend - best catering ever! We have used Salt & Slate on several occasions in the past and hope to use them again in the future. We recently held a sit down dinner dance for just under 70 people in a garden marquee and asked Ollie and his lovely team to provide the catering, cutlery and crockery for the event. All our guests commented on the high quality of food that was produced and the friendliness of his staff. At midnight, Ollie produced wonderful home-made sausage rolls which went down a treat! His catering certainly contributed to a very memorable and successful event. Nothing was too much trouble for him or his team.

We have asked Salt and Slate to cater for us several times and each time the food has been absolutely amazing! This Sunday I asked for vegetarian, gluten and dairy free options and every dish was delicious and enjoyed by us all. Thank you Olly ⭐️

Good quality food and Coffee . Really enjoyed the raspberry and almond cake . Cant say the same about Hot chocolate. For me the Service is equally important as the food is.Unfortunately it wasn’t on the day . I felt as I was bothering him , by being there. Cheer up and be more appreciative towards your paying customers

I DO NOT RECCOMEND THE RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE!

Above all, I would like to ask if any of you tried to make a juice from raisins instead of grape?
No? And rightly so! You don't have to try at all.
All you will figure out is being left with a poor feeling of doing something meaningless and useless ?

I just wanted to let you know of my great dismay at the treatment of my first inquiry and me, personally as a customer. I've been waiting 7 days for someone to answer me in 1 sentence telling me: “we can't take your order or we can.”But even that wouldn't have been a problem if I hadn't called them and asked if anyone had seen my inquiry by email and messenger (sent to two places). I was rudely interrupted and accused that my attitude and asking this question was inappropriate and they would not work with me. A client who turns to them for help for the first time, with such desire and patience I wait for them to answer even one sentence and in the end - without guilt they make me guilty. Rude, disrespectful, bad behavior that should not be tolerated. ?

Have been meaning to try this place since it opened. We had the 'Quack & Mac' for lunch and it just did not disappoint. Best meal I've had in a long time. Have bought a couple of beef Wellington as well and look forward to trying those. ? ? ? ? ?
