We had a wonderful stay at Saltcotes Farm.|Sarah is the most fantastic host, and nothing is any trouble for her.|Sarah is a most welcoming and homely |individual, and we both felt it was a home from home.|The breakfast was fantastic and we fell in love with all the animals. We will definitely be going back soon, just to say omg, the bed was so comfortable. |My partner Rita takes timed medication, and Sarah accommodated her with later breakfast times, which was greatly appreciated. |Kind regards|Malc and Rita|Wigan

Excellent place to stay the owner and landlady are so helpful and accommodating. Having stayed on other occasions I found the food and conversation to be relaxing. As a working farm and b and b I found the perfect place for a short break and would highly recommend it .Despite several comments they always adhere to legal and legislative guidelines. I would recommend a stay to anyone

Do not go near Saltcots Farm if you value your SAFETY (I was actually and unbelievably threatened with physical violence and felt very unsafe with this apparently unhinged people), your SECURITY (there was no lock in the room to start with and later on she went into my room and manhandled my property, without my authorisation, throwing it out) and your SANITY (just ridiculously bullying and abusive people and I even noticed casual racism I suppose because I am not English).||From the beginning, during check-in recently in March 2025, she was very forceful, unfriendly and made me feel unwelcomed and like if she was doing me a favour after paying £54 for a single occupancy room with a shared bathroom for only one night.||After booking and paying in full for the room through booking.com they were expecting me and I filled a checking card as well as I could but it seems that they later on lied as a few hours later as I received an email from booking.com stating that “…the accommodation is unable to find or confirm your reservation.” as the excuse given for “…not being able to accommodate me anymore”.||In any case, after checking in I was shown to my room where I unpacked and had a bath as I did hike that day long.||After the bath I went out to get some take away for my dinner.||When I came back with my hot food, I found the place locked and I was left outside in the cold with my food rapidly getting cold. I called them on the phone and they said they would be there in five minutes.||But they arrived after 9 minutes and when I protested that they left me outside and that If they were going to go out locking me out, they should have given me a key but they became even more unfriendly.||I told them that the food I was carrying in plastic bags was getting cold and that’s the main reason why I did not understand why they did not give me a key if they were going out.||At that moment she was becoming more aggressive unbelievably trying to grab my carrier bags saying that she did not believe me about my takeaway. I just could not believe the aggressive and intrusive behaviour of this person.||She proceeded to block the front door with her body and said she wasn’t going to let me in.||I said that was unreasonable as I had paid already. She said in a very aggressive and threating tone that I paid booking.com not her and that they are not paid until later on. I said that the arrangement they might have with booking.com was not my problem as they were expecting me, accepted me and that I checked in already so she should provide the accommodation.||She became very aggressive threatening me with physical violence, “I will knock you out” were her exact words and she even said “I would let the dogs out”. Clearly this person should not have contact with the public as she seems too aggressive and unstable and possibly a danger to others.||Then, she went inside locking the front door and leaving me outside coming out again after a while with my things (!!) saying again very aggressively for me to leave. I told her that she cannot and shouldn’t touch my property and she responded that she did whatever she wanted in her house. Obviously, this person is incapable to have a minimum of customer care and respect and she shouldn’t be interacting with paying customers.||After recovering from the shock of seeing her throwing my stuff out of the place I said that I would not leave until I check that I have all my things back as I just did not trust her. She very aggressively did not want to let me in but at the end her companion convinced her to let me in to check for my stuff which she did following me behind and still threatening with violence.||When I got to my already paid, checked in and occupied room, I was right not trusting her, as I found some of my trekking information on the floor (that I needed for the next day), my expensive sunglasses on a chair, my expensive trekking socks and my bottles of mineral water. Obviously, this person has no respect or care for her customers or their possessions and I did well not trusting her and insisting on checking my room before leaving.||A very unpleasant experience. These people are unwelcoming, bullying, abusive, very aggressive and threatening with physical violence. These people should not have contact with paying customers and I hope nobody else will have to go through this horrible and unbelievable experience. I would not imagine in a thousand years that this would happen to me in a B&B after paying and checking in, being treated so badly to the extent even of being afraid for my safety. Just nasty and it seems unhinged people.

My partner, I, and our two Huskies were made to feel like members of the family right away. After being welcomed and shown to our room, we were given tea and coffee, nothing was too much for Sarah and Danni. Our dogs were pampered and enjoyed exploring the farm's sights and surroundings just as much as we did.||Sarah is a lovely and welcoming host, we learnt about the farm's history as well as local activities for our next visit. The living room and other common areas were also a nice touch. ||Breakfast was delicious!, I love the personal touches too - such as the honey sausages being sourced from the farm's own honey and meat, as well as the homemade jams. (would come back again for them alone!)
