This is not a hotel, it is a Campus for workers at Hinkley power station.
A good Campus though with most requirements catered for.

Rooms are not clean as should be especially showers.
As a location 2h you spent to comute to HPC and back. Traffic in Bridgwater is huge.

Clean rooms laid out well with plenty of parking and good food. Prices aren't too bad either. It's a quiet campus most the time except the buses reversing which you can't normally hear if the window is closed. Plenty of outdoor seating areas with free activities to occupy any spare time. It's different to your normal hotel but it's OK. 👍

I have been here since September 2023, rates are about as fair as you will get in this area, the big downside is no mini fridges in the rooms, I will add, that each block has a communal fridge on the ground floor, sadly I have had a few items removed by other co workers and invested in a lockable cool bag, which at the moment seems to be working. Also each fridge has to accommodate 35 rooms, as you can appreciate trying to find space for your perishables can be awkward especially with the fridges being rammed and not enough room for the cold air to circulate to keep them fresh.

I stayed here three months, whilst driving an SPS bus. I guess if you stay for a week, then this won't apply to you, just those staying longer. It is ONLY for workers connected to the Hinkley Point C project. After about a month there, the weirdness of the place started to kick in. G4S wannabe police officers are in your face alot of the time, CCTV all over the place. It began to get to me that I was living in such a controlled environment, where my every move was being monitored. One (female) G4S robot seemed to have it in for me, telling me to get off my bicycle when on campus. Why? Motorcyclists don't have to! What's more dangerous? So that's #1. Oh yes: I parked my car facing in, instead of reverse parked, and THAT DAY received an email telling me not to and threatening to remove my ability to park there should my bad behaviour continue! Connected with #1 is the post/mail. It all goes to G4S up the road, and is screened before delivery to Sedgmoor. If you don't have anywhere else to live (like me), or even if you do and just want an Amazon parcel, then the process is very slow. If your parcel arrives at said facility on a Friday, then forget about it arriving til the following Monday or Tuesday. One quite important parcel took two weeks, as it went to the other campus at Hinkley, even though it had Sedgmoor in the address. Control. I can understand one review mentioning the word 'prison' in his review. I don't think I'd go that far (but almost would) but it did affect me, and after two months I'd had enough.
#2 The rooms are nice, student rooms, and the bed is really comfortable. My room became my little cave, and I think it was the best part of my experience. They are cleaned every week, but there is no communication between reception and the cleaners about who might be on night duty and doesn't want to be disturbed at 0830. A quick knock on the door, and the cleaner would barge in immediately. Having said that, some of the cleaners did a super job. Some didn't. Only one fridge for 36 people is not acceptable though. There were some festering sausage looking things that remained in place for my entire stay.
#3 To begin with, I thought the food was great, perhaps because I didn't have to make it myself. My last few weeks however saw me not being able to eat very much, just couldn't face it. All the food is prepared offsite and shipped in, so it isn't fresh but they have a 'cooked to order' facility, which requires you to order and then wait perhaps 15 minutes. My health really suffered, as I can't live on chicken and chips every day. The restaurant is huge and can be quite an unpleasant experience when full. Yes, I can honestly say that my general health went downhill.
So, the above probably doesn't apply to you, 'cos you are just there for a week or two, but I would strongly advise you look for accommodation elsewhere if you plan to be there any longer. I don't want to knock the place, as it was after all free for me, as part of the contract. After three months though I was very glad to escape to the real world.
