We couldn’t have hoped for anything more.|Hannah was fabulous throughout the planning process, always helpful and patient. |After our first visit we spent the whole day just talking about Shaw Hill so we knew it was the place for us. I definitely contacted Hannah with lots of questions, sometimes the same question more than once and she was always so friendly and patient with me. Always assuring me (a self confessed control freak) that everything would be taken care of and set up the way we want. |On the day Alex was so attentive and guided our day wonderfully. When we arrived from church we had drinks and canapés waiting for us. The room was set up just as I had hoped and during our wedding breakfast nothing was too much trouble. The team are so knowledgeable, Alex asked what playlist we would like during our wedding breakfast and said they had something that seemed like it would be our style following our entrance to Chris Brown Forever and it absolutely was our style. A few guests couldn’t resist a dance between courses telling me the music was spot on. Simple things like this made us feel so well taken care of throughout the whole day. We’ve had numerous compliments from guests about how amazing the food was. |The evening do was incredible, our DJ who we booked through Shaw Hill was wonderful and it was down to him that the dance floor was never empty, the atmosphere was something else throughout the whole day. We even had to get the cake cut before our guests danced it off the dance floor. |A week later I’m still living on the high of the day, it was truly spectacular.|Thank you to the whole team at Shaw Hill for making our day so wonderful.

What an amazing place. We dined in Allamby’s Brasserie, beautiful food the beef melts in the mouth, the brownie is divine I wanted to order another. Stuart, Henry and Alec gave amazing service as always. I can’t recommend this place enough! The menu is really cheap for Sunday lunch and it is a lovely place to come with my family, the atmosphere is always perfect. Can’t wait to come back!

Stayed here nigh before a business meeting nearby , excellent comms, I had an email response within 2 hours to a query , ||Parking was easy , check in was quick efficient and friendly. ||The building is grade 2 listed , and quite old so it has a few quicks, I was able to open the window in bedroom, so wasn’t roasted alive , unlike some hotels , bathroom had been modernised, and worked well. Plenty of storage , with a place to work. ||Restaurant/ Bar experience was also positive and very reasonable priced drinks . ||Breakfast was star of the show , buffet continental , and cooked to order full English , very high quality sausages too, ||Will certainly return

We went for a spa, dinner, bed and breakfast package with you. This was booked for my mum and myself for mother's day and my daughter for her birthday (3 generations coming together as a rare treat, as I don't live near my mum).||I just wanted to express my disappointment with our experience at Shaw Hill Golf Club and Spa Hotel.||Cons:| |Hotel-|- Burning hot radiator, struggled to adjust.|- The window was heavy and hard to open (very heavy). Very hot in the room.|- Shower/bath extremely hot or cold (daughter burnt finger, while checking temperature). Didn't keep it's temperature. |- Extractor in the bathroom doesn't work, which makes the room even hotter.|- Stiff bathroom sink taps.|- the double bed in the room had an extremely uncomfortable hard mattress.||Allamby's-|- On arrival for our dinner we were told that there were no specials left. All 3 of us asked to order fillet steak, to be told there was no fillet steak. Just 2 left but they had been reserved. We weren't aware that you had to/ or could reserve food? This left us disappointed. The waiter then recommended steak frites, stating that it's a really lean piece of steak. All 3 of us ordered this on his recommendation. When they arrived I requested ketchup for my daughter and said that we were still waiting on our broccoli side order. These didn't arrive until we asked again. 2 out of the 3 steak frites were fatty. The waiter apologised for this and agreed to not charge us for the broccoli.|* The tables either side of us also wanted to order fillet steaks, they were also clearly disappointed. |My mum and daughter ordered a brownie for dessert and a asked for a espresso martini instead of a dessert. My drink arrived within a few minutes. After around 20 minutes, after I had finished my drink. I had to ask another waiter about the brownies. Around 10 minutes later, the brownies arrived (which looked pre cut). My mum then had to point out that there was meant to be ice cream with them, which they got. The waiter apologised, and stated that staff hadn't turned in and they are a chef down. Staff appeared to look flustered and frustrated. |At this point I wanted to just get out of the restaurant to try and redeem what was meant to be a treat for us all. As you can imagine after the money I spent on the break away, it did not feel like a treat at this point.|I asked for the bill. When it arrived I double checked it. Our £28 each meal allowance had not been removed and we were charged approx £10 extra for another tables drinks (2 Pepsi's and an Estrella). The waiter removed the drinks added and explained that to get our meal allowance we need to charge it to our room. We hadn't been told this previously and some people may have just paid this!|- In the morning we went for our booked breakfast slot (10am). I went to get to coffees but another guest told me the coffee machine is not working now (she seemed frustrated), so I got us fruit juices instead. My mum and daughter went to the breakfast buffet and there were minimal things left. I went over to the buffet, see pic attached. There were no plates left, minimal food on display. I asked a waitress for plates and asking if they could bring more fruit out. (She brought plates out but no more fresh fruit was brought out, more disappointment). I saw a lady getting coffee so I went back to the machine. It had broke again, the lady behind me said all she got was hot milk as the coffee didn't come out. A waitress fixed it, and I got 2 coffees. No decaf option. ||The spa break was supposed to be a treat for all 3 of us, which is something we haven't managed to do before. So understandably we all feel extremely disappointed with our experience. ||I expressed my disappointment and sent a complaint a day later. 3 weeks on I am waiting for a reply. ||Don't waste your money!

£20 for 2 courses Sunday offer. The experience was spot on. All staff were efficient and attentive. We didn’t wait long to order and the food arrived promptly. Restaurant was cosy, spotless and inviting Food was so tasty. I had ham hock and roast pork. All food was well presented and the perfect temperature. There was plenty of gravy too. Gravy was amazing. I can’t believe the quality of the food for the price. Best Sunday Lunch I’ve had in the area.

The staff were absolutely incredible considering how busy it was all day. We came for my mum for mother’s day and as well as the food being flavourful and well presented the staff were going to all lengths to ensure we had an amazing day. Especially staff members Ruby and Manager Stuart/Stewart. Service could have been a little faster however given the number of people that were in the restaurant AND bar area all staff members kept up extremely well whilst smiling and we noticed them laughing with eachother which is lovely to see knowing how stressful hospitality.

Steak Night - Wow!!! 5 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟||Been coming to Shaw Hill for 15+ years and always had excellent food and service from all the staff here. However, tonight Allamby’s Steak and Sax Night was off the charts. Compliments to the chef for delivering a platter of steaks cooked to perfection and front of house Stew, Alex and Alek who all contributed to a wonderful evening. Great entertainment too! 🎷 ||Well done Shaw Hill - keep up the amazing work. 👏👏👏👏||See you next year!

We stayed one night an attending a party nearby. The hotel is clearly undergoing a gradual update. The entry way and breakfast room are new and pleasant. The breakfast hot meal was done very well and staff friendly. Hotel check in was quick, pleasant and nice staff. The room, however, is stuck in the 1970s, possibly early 1980s. Very dated, musty smell, standard double is actually a small double. Very little amenities in the room such as no hair dryer, bare minimum. The hall to the room was battered and smelled of a bit of mildew and cheap disinfectant. Extremely noisy as doors are quite old (chip board?) offering no noise barrier. I think once upgrades have been done the place could be very nice as it is a lovely looking building externally and in the redecorated public rooms. Until then, far too expensive (£120) for what you get and without a good nights sleep. We plan to stay in a pub with rooms next time we visit (£80).
