A true Haven for the forlorn traveller and those who suffer a tyre blowout. Gracious owner Sarah went out of her way to help us out of a sticky, tiresome situation, supplying us with tea, snacks and the offer of a room for the night. We eventually excepted, finding the shieldhall to be an oasis of luxury and comfort.
After an agonising 10 hr wait for roadside recovery, Sarah provided us with more food, to see us right for a comfy nights sleep in a superking bed, replete with electric blanket, heaven.
You must come and stay here and visit shieldhall and Northumberland in general, the welcome is well worth it.
Thank you so much

We felt very fortunate that the Covid restrictions were eased sufficiently to allow us to stay in the delightful Cabinetmakers suite, for the first part of the St Oswald's Way walk. We were pleased that we had allowed ourselves additional nights so we could enjoy exploring the rich heritage, culture and landscapes of the area as well as completing the walk. The accommodation is of a high standard with an incredibly comfortable bed, and we loved the morning/evening strolls around the meadow. We took advantage of the food delivery service provided by Noisette catering and it was a pleasure to arrive back, sink into the bath then enjoy the dinners with minimal preparation. Sarah, our host was always available for any queries and advice, and other family members were also most welcoming. Thank you to all.

We stayed in The Cabinetmaker's Suite here for nine nights in September 2020. It is a studio apartment with bespoke furnishings that are tasteful and beautiful. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is here. We used it as a base for the first section of St Oswald's Way walk and it proved ideal. The area feels remote but the property is within a few hundred yards of an A road, so easy to access. Watch out for the only local petrol station, at the unlikely village of Scots Gap. The details had one inaccuracy - there is no DVD player, but this is more than balanced by the Netflix account on the TV. The next-door owner was extremely helpful and friendly. One of the best holiday properties we've stayed in.

We stayed in the Mahogany suite and it is seriously nice! Well laid out with lounge/dining area, very pretty and well equipped kitchen, big bedroom with massive and comfortable bed, big, warm bathroom. Plenty of linen and toiletries provided, plenty of storage space. Found a hamper with many very useful products, including milk, bread and butter, cereals and eggs. Jason and Sarah very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately did not have the time to go around exploring, but many maps with walking routes and informative guides about the region are provided.||Will try to go back as soon as possible!

If you’re looking for a Northumbrian farmhouse atmosphere with a little extra luxury, then Shieldhall is a great choice. Just a couple of miles from Wallington Hall, this gem is run by a friendly couple who treated us like long-lost family. We stayed in the pine room, with a double bedroom and comfortable twin room as well as a cosy shower room. The accommodation was spotless and obviously hand crafted. And the breakfasts were great too.

What a fantastic weekend we have just had at ShieldHall. We were made to feel so welcome and really didn’t want to leave this beautiful place.||Our cottage was gorgeous - beautifully decorated and so much attention to detail. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed we have slept in.||We highly recommend Sheildhall to anyone who is looking for a quiet getaway, and we will definitely be back again.

My partner and I stayed here for the weekend. The rooms are spacious for two with every convenience imaginable. The rooms are beautifully appointed and every effort is made to provide you with what you need. This includes hot water, butter, eggs, Home made bread and marmalade and a wide selection of local maps and one of the most comfortable beds that I have ever slept in.||I totally recommend the accommodation.
