We had our wedding here in feb 2025 and cannot recommend it highly enough! We booked in sept for the winter deal they had on so it was great value for money! The staff went above and beyond to ensure the day went perfectly! The food was excellent as was the setting, service and dj! Couldn’t have been happier!

We recently had our wedding at Shotton Grange and loved every minute of it. From meeting the staff at our first visit in January 2022 to even now 3 weeks after our wedding we have had nothing but amazing correspondence and help from the staff, especially Emma and our Master of Ceremonies on the day, Max. They were so attentive on the day too and made the day even more special than it already was. They have been great with our little boy too who is already missing going to the open evenings 🙂 we would 1,000,000% recommend Shotton Grange to anyone looking for a venue for their big day and wish we could do it all over again.

Getting married at Shotton Grange was easily one of the best wedding planning decisions we made. From discovering this hidden gem when diving into the depths of Google Maps for North East wedding venues, we instantly knew this venue was the one for us. It had everything we hoped for and more - from the exclusivity of the venue, to its beautiful gardens and decor, all the natural light and even the duck breast main! The venue ticked every box, added extra boxes, and then ticked those.

Emma, our Wedding Coordinator, was fantastic from start to finish. We had MANY questions and she was there for them all. Communication was out of this world throughout - 99% of all emails were responded to within 24 hours. Whenever Emma wasn’t available (which seemed very rarely the case!), another member of the team would swiftly pick up our emails. If you want to be fully in control of your day with everyone kept in the loop, Shotton Grange (or their sister venues), is the venue you need.

Rachel, our Master of Ceremonies, and all the on-the-day team were amazing. The whole day ran so smoothly and we were able to just spend the day as Bride and Groom. The day flowed beautifully from one stage to the next, and everything was as we'd envisioned in the planning.

From our private venue tour right up until the day after our wedding, Shotton Grange has been a delight. The initial, halfway and final meetings that took place were very helpful to us - we never felt rushed in the meetings or to make any decisions on the wedding, they helped us to generate ideas on what we wanted from the day, and on top of that, we were able to spend more time with our lovely venue in the lead up. The menu tasting night and supplier open days were also great, and we even visited the venue for our Valentine’s Day meal which was fantastic.

We hope to visit again in the future, whether that be for one of their events, another wedding, or to host another event of our own.

The bar staff and people serving the were miserable from greeting the staff only one member of staff look like they were friendly and she was the wedding organiser.

Some of the worst tasting lager I have ever tasted in my life. Anything out of the pumps are going to taste putrid.
Bottle are priced up.
To top it off the bar staff, the 2 girls with the glasses were some of the most miserable and rude people I have ever met.

I’m gutted that this review isn’t a very good one but this was my wedding venue and I unfortunately didn’t have the best experience.. me and my husband got married here June 2024 and I feel like I’m ready to address some things now.. firstly I was told if I wanted to go and decorate the room the morning of my wedding there’d be staff there to help assist.. when I arrived to do this there was nobody around, I had boxes of stuff to place out and nothing was ready and when I sent a family member to get a staff member the staff were too busy to be of any help and when they eventually did come they literally said “just place this there” and left.. when my bridesmaids arrived they weren’t accommodated at all they were stood in the stairway area with their dresses in their hands and had no where to go even though some of them had rooms they’d paid to stay in, there wasn’t any staff there to help them. On top of all this the staff at shotton grange ruined a moment I can never get back, I was waiting to walk down the isle.. my bridesmaids already started making their way down and I realised they had the wrong version of my chosen song on, they were playing a fast bootleg version of my walkout song even after I’d showed them the exact version I wanted over meetings which was a very slow song, this was gut wrenching in the moment because I was so exited for our song to be played and share that moment with my husband and they messed it up. I was seconds way from walking down the isle and I was having a full blown panic attack and felt so embarrassed by the music mess up so when I came to walking down to the isle it didn’t feel as special or anything like I’d imagined, it’s something I will never get back. I think weddings are expensive enough and to have this kind of experience after choosing somewhere you trust it should never happen to anyone.

Wonderful venue for wedding and very efficient serving the food. Beautiful surroundings and lots of outside space. Bar service was very slow unfortunately with insufficient staff but overall we had a great day.

Me and my wife got married on the 6th January at this gorgeous venue. The setting is close to the A1 for ease and I must admit from start to finish the whole team made our day wonderful.
From the pre wedding meetings which were setting out what we wanted etc till the day itself we found them listening and caring to everything we wanted. Friendly staff make things just that little bit special at times and they all did that perfectly,the wedding breakfast was served superbly and tasted amazing .Me and Lorraine felt special the whole day and night and hats off to everyone at Shotton for that .We had the most special day ever and one we will never forget .

We got married at Shotton grange in September and I couldn’t recommend this venue enough! From our initial enquiry the communication has been amazing! Every question and email I’ve sent has been answered really quickly. The staff really do have your best interests at heart! On the day all the staff were amazing and it ran so smoothly. The food was amazing, everyone enjoyed the meal and the canapés! The drinks were reasonably priced in my opinion (for a wedding venue). The rooms are all done out to a really high standard and feel really luxurious. The breakfast the next day was also really tasty! Honestly if you’re thinking about this for your wedding venue I’d say go for it!
