Having read other reviews I think that the reviews are not a fair representation of the guest house.|Ok I get the “odd” bit when there is no welcoming party, but as an adult it did take long to see my name on a board with the key hung up next to it.|The room was clean and tidy and had the basics that I would expect. |In the morning I was welcomed by the owner who cooked my breakfast and where there was no sausage I have survived!! Plenty of choice for fruit juice cereal etc||On the second morning the where really busy and still managed to serve everyone in a timely manner||Overall no complaints, accept of course we all need a sausage or two for breakfast

Excellent value for money and location is excellent. On arrival no one was their to greet us however, keys were available to collect and clear where to go. Room was spacious and very clean, but a little dated. In the morning to lady’s were their to make breakfast and check us out, and they were very polite. Breakfast had a good range considering the price. Only criticism would be the bacon was a little fatty and there was no sausages in the full English. I would stay again.

This B&B is on the A10 and is extremely noisy so if you want a decent night's sleep ear plugs are a must. Not warned about this when booking! Weather was very hot so closed windows were out of the questions although that didn't make much difference. There are 12 rooms so some may be quieter. Very strange to arrive and find no-one there. Name and room number were written on a board and you just took the appropriate key. The room was clean but shabby - definitely needed a bit of TLC although the bed was comfortable. Shower/toilet had no extractor fan and tiles in shower need a good scrub. Very basic provision of shower gel/ hand wash (which was also shower gel) and tea and coffee. Breakfast again was very basic. Cereals, fruit juice and an array of ham and cheese but no fruit and limited yoghurt. I know we are supposed to be eating too much but full English only looked a lot because it was served on very small plates. No vegetarian option and mushrooms and tomato looked as though it was one shared between the four of us.||On the plus side there is plenty of parking; a quiet lounge (if you are the only ones using it) and no problem about putting bottled water in the fridge. The kitchen dining area is open plan and guests are allowed to bring in takeaways etc and use the kitchen/dining area. Only problem is cooking smells all over the house! We crossed the road (carefully) and walked to Waterbeach and had dinner in a pub there. Also a couple of shops there - useful for early morning walk to buy a paper and water.

Well I’m not sure where to start!! We booked this B&B as we were attending a family party nearby and the pictures and reviews made it sound like a sweet place to stay... It was not! I honestly cannot think of one nice to say about the place. ||We arrived and there was no staff but a board with names on and a key which was strange but not a huge problem so went to our room (No. 1), which was not in a good way at all, it was very smelly, a mixture of damp mouldy smell and the smell of fried food, we opened all the windows and the door to air it out. The room itself was very old and tired with stained carpets, a dirty bathroom and a very uncomfortable bed. ||We weren’t going to be in the room long and had no choice but to stay so thought at least breakfast might make up for it so after a very uncomfortable night we went into the breakfast food, which again had a very offensive fried food smell and was very small, our party of 5 had to sit separately. ||On the tables there was a selection of jams, peanut butter etc all of which were very cheap low quality brands. The “continental” breakfast options were cereals and a few cheap croissants and pain au chocolate’s alongside a packet of mixed hams and cheese. We all ordered a Full English and what was served was laughable, it took around 30 minutes to come and when it arrived it was 2 rashers of bacon, a broken hard fried egg, a quarter of a tomato, around 5 very small pieces of mushroom and some baked beans... this is not what I would describe as a Full English!! The poor lady on the table next to us ordered poached eggs on toast and got one slice of toast and one egg... Definitely not an adequate breakfast when your are charging £80 a night... Especially when the rooms are so bad!!! ||When my Mother in Law went to settle the bill for the rooms the very rude manager tried to charge her almost triple the price we had booked through Booking.com and quoted £80 per room saying it was £80 per person not per room and trying to say that it was an error with Booking.com and not the B&B! In the end she agreed to honour the Booking.com price. ||When I went to return our key, she again started being quite rude about the price situation and I politely pointed out that even for the lower price I felt the rooms were not worth it as it was filthy and the breakfast was disgusting. This was met by her asking me “Are you stupid? I personally cleaned the room and its lovely”. I do not expect to be spoken to like that as a customer anywhere especially not when I feel like I had paid a lot of money for something that was not worth it. She ended the conversation by saying she doesn’t care what I think as they have lots of good reviews and walked off when I was still talking to her!!! When I returned home I had a look on these so called good reviews and I think they are very lucky the previous owners were so good and this has raised the total score of the B&B. |Overall this place is an absolute disaster and I wouldn’t recommend it even to my worst enemy!! Save your money and stay elsewhere!!

I was booked on a 3 day workshop at Landbeach, and this was a very convenient location. It’s an odd little place though. On arrival there is nobody to greet you. Names and room numbers are written on a whiteboard with a sign saying find your key, and find your room. You see no staff until breakfast on any day. ||My room was on the small side, or ‘cosy’. There is a list of rules on the door. ||‘Close the bathroom door when showering so you don’t activate the smoke detector’|‘Don’t eat takeaways in your room’||That type of thing. ||The shower takes ages to get to a decent temperature and can be scalding or freezing. The kettle takes an age to boil, and WiFi is rubbish.||That said my room was clean and presentable and there is ample parking. Not great to get here by public transport, but easy to find from the A10.

Was asked to confirm time of arrival yet no one was there to greet me on arrival. Spacious room at a good price, tea and coffee supplied in room. Freeview TV was a good addition. Great shower!
Disappointed at the wifi - couldn't get any signal from it. I could hear a monotonous buzzing noise during the night and the walls were very thin. Despite this I had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was underwhelming. Got what I paid for, good but not great.

Very clean, homely and welcoming, the breakfast was great, Full English plus cereals and toast, tea / coffee in the room.
The staff were very friendly and polite, would recommend and use again.
Great location, 5 minutes walk to village plus a good Indian restaurant opposite.
Convenient for Cambridge, 10 minute drive.
