The best Indian our family have tasted, authentic and full of flavour. Staff very friendly and kind.
Floors could do with a good clean.
However the food is incredible and outweighs any other factor. Will definitely be visiting again and pass on our positive experience to friends and family.

Good old English pub with pool table, showing football matches. Indian ran, and Indian restaurant on site! What could be more perfect. Jutin was very friendly and helpful. Rooms slightly dated but clean and comfortable. Nice quiet location in quaint little town.

From start to finish the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. The room was dirty. There was one flat pillow each and a mattress so heard it was like sleeping on concrete!! The room was red hot and despite us using the air con it didn’t cool at all. The toilet seat kid did not stay up so u had to hold it with your back…|Then breakfast!! What can I say.., we came downstairs to be served by a young lady in her pajamas!! The breakfast came and was completely cold. My plate was full of water from the apparently poached eggs. We had to ask for forks. The tea tasted of perfume and the toast was just sliced bread complete with the crust… been absolutely no where near a toaster!! |So the building is wonderful and with such wonderful Tudor features could be amazing. Unfortunately it is being run is a terribly unprofessional way and is dirty and unkempt. Please avoid!!!

The room was shabby. The bar area, whilst nice, was really cold. The toilets were awful, smelt bad, one of them over flowing, no hand towels or dryer. Curry was simply a poor standard, overly salty and far too sweet. Had to go up to the bar to ask to take our order and then later the bill.

We booked a room only as we were arriving late we weren’t concerned about the previous reviews about the room. What a delightful surprise! See photos they speak for themselves...we stayed in the Tudor room £64 for the night! Great value and a truly historic feeling. Book this room with confidence. The key and lock to room needs wd40 and a little more usage! Thank you for waiting for us to arrive.

This was the worse place I have ever stayed in. We arrived to drop our case off at 12 noon as advised on previous phone call. Couldn’t get in building, my husband went into the pub and was told that the previous customers hadn’t checked out. He was given a key for when we returned after midnight, clothes had to be left in our car.|We arrived back just after midnight and key wasn’t the front door key but just two room keys😡. Tried calling the number on the door to gain access but it stated it was unobtainable. Both numbers were really blurred on board. Front entrance was closed up and we were getting really worried where we were going to stay. Another couple turned up and were in the same boat as us. Then suddenly a young lady opened the door and thought this was hilarious. First impression was the place stunk of curry and looked absolutely filthy. We went to our room and I appreciate that it’s an old building and it’s quirky but it’s was a joke. Base of cordless kettle was stained with coffee or tea drips, no teaspoon but a dessert spoon to make your drink. No toilet roll in the holder but found a roll on the floor. Bed was the most uncomfortable thing I had ever slept in. Towels looked clean but the shower needed a good scrub, neither of us felt we could use it as it was so bad. The sink was badly stained around the plug hole, nothing that a good scrub and bleach couldn’t deal with. Outside the room was someone else’s dirty mugs. Why wasn’t we all given front door keys to get in especially as phone is not answered. I would not recommend a stay at this place ever as it’s a shame as it’s got loads of character but no one to care about it apart from taking money. Really upset guest and I will be talking to the wedding venue regarding this as it puts their reputation at stake to.

The fact I've given this one star is enough said about how bad we found The George. So, I'm going to focus on the very few positives:
1) The bed was comfy.
2) The shower was hot.
3) It was located near the festival we were attending.
4) It was better than staying in a tent and using portable toilets & showers.
I do not recommend this place. I would not stay here again.
