Faultless. Small, but very comfy and homely and owned by the wonderful Derek who cannot do enough for you. The place is operating theatre clean, and I really do mean clean. Beds are comfy and you will never go cold in winter here. Breakfasts are tip-top too. Only slight fault is you don't get enough of it, but then I am quite greedy! I have no hesitation whatsoever about recommending the place, you cannot go wrong here.

Would not recommend it not at all friendly owners very tude changed breakfast time as a disable person unable to. Get down by 8am No communication notes left on doors no hot water for 2days seven days of hell on payment was still charged the full price so all in all not a good experience M Harvey M BE

Despite my visit being unplanned due to my stairlift at home being out of order, I was made to feel welcome and comfortable. I felt that no request would be too much, both Derek and Jane were happy to help.||My room was very roomy, and I was delighted to see the old wooden beams in place, the owner Derek told me mine was the only room with the beams still in place, dating from the building’s prior history as a smithy. The gardens at the back are a delightful surprise. ||I highly recommend a stay here.

Very disappointed. i have been trying to get hold of the owner for over month to get an invoice for our stay.

we checked out early due to not being satisfied with the stay, were charged full price - which i understand but after requesting an invoice for over a month - they now avoid my calls or put the phone down on me

Lovely B&B great location, clean comfortable room. Excellent breakfast plenty of choice. The owner was helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. What a lovely stay will definitely be returning. Thank you Derek for a memorable weekend.

Derek was a fantastic host and made us feel at home from the moment we stepped foot in the door. Beautiful little place to stay 😄 that good we extended for a extra night. Little dated but definitely gives the place its quirkiness. Loved our stay and will most certainly be back. Keep doing what you do Derek ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Although i have not had the privilege of staying at Smithy Lodge, I wanted to leave a review to say a huge thank-you to both Derek and his lovely wife for their hospitality when I got lost (new driver from out of area). They invited me in to their home and provided me with directions to get me back home - lovely couple with a beautiful guest house. Thanks so much….I made it home!! Charli 😊
