Site is well kept and nicely laid out. Pitches are spacious and open. Facilities are good. Clean with hot showers. Abermule Arms was amazing for food on the Friday evening (dog friendly in the bar or garden). Canal walk to Newtown and bus back. Bus to Montgomery for a potter. The only downside is a constant drone from A483. Not enough to keep you awake but there.

Liked: Everything about this site was perfect. Very warm welcome upon checking in which was very easy. The site is extremely well kept. The spacious pitches are fully serviced including TV Aerial and WI-FI. The shower and toilet facilities are excellent and spotlessly clean. The river runs directly behind the site with a picnic table and a couple of other benches provided. The site is very well located for Newtown, Welshpool and Montgomery. The coast is around 90mins away by car. The railway station at Newtown also runs trains to the coast with beautiful scenery along the way. We will definitely return here. Probably the best kept site we have ever stayed on.

Liked: Clean and tidy site, great level pitch, waste water and TV point on the pitch, well kept short grass for awning pitching and plenty of space. Quite and tucked away site, pub 5 min walk away serving great food and close to miles of canal tow path for walking. Late check out available too. Friendly site managers.

Disliked: Bit of road noise and slightly awkward entry/exit but nothing major.

Liked: - Friendliness of the staff on arrival
- The pitch was large and fully serviced which all worked well and was easy to set up
- The view with the river was beautiful and the public footpath nearby was handy for an evening stroll
- The location is excellent to get to different places and also be rural.
- Wifi was excellent. Best we’ve ever had.
- the toilet/shower block was very clean and accessible

Disliked: - There was some noise from the main road, however this didn’t cause major issues for us
- There was quite a large gap between the hard standing and the grass so my toddler and me rolled our ankles down the gap several times. This could do with filling with soil/rubble.
- The children’s play area was dated and there was nothing for smaller children/toddlers

Liked: Site was lovely, well kept, large pitches. Toilet and showers were clean.
Staff friendly and nothing too much trouble.

Disliked: Unfortunately we visited the site on the Bank Holiday weekend and there was a lot or road noise all day and night, and although it did quieten a little after the weekend there was still quite a lot of noise.

Fabulous time at Smithy Park. We stayed in a motorhome for a week and our relatives stayed in Oak cottage just outside of the park. Facilities are lovely. Showers and toilets on touring park very clean and plenty of hot water. Proper hairdryer is provided which was a bonus.|Cottage was well equipped and nice and quiet.|Jayne who runs the park was really helpful. My husband was suffering with a very painful knee prior to stay and could only walk a small distance with crutches. I rang site a few days before stay to see if there was anywhere in town to hire a wheelchair. Jayne called me back and had made phone calls and borrowed a wheelchair for us for the week. How great was that! To go out of her way to help. Amazing. Thank you soo much for a wonderful holiday.

Liked: Fantastic pitch opposite Kingfisher View (the river), great walks alongside the canal. Facilities were very close to the touring pitches and always nice and clean. Older son loves nature so being near the river was fantastic. Easy check in. Great wifi connection (so the teen was happy!)

Liked: site was nice quiet just what we like, pitches set out very well, everything you needed ,very clean facilities. small park for children. nice walk along river , and canal both within walking distance , clean tidy site no complaints, thankyou to owners and the working staff .. who keep it spotless,..
