It was my first time visiting the spa. My wife took us there as she is a regular customer and really likes it there. We booked a couples massage with jacuzzi and steam room services.
Overall, I'd give it a 6 out of 10. I'll put it down to it being at the start of the year and they hadn't got in the groove yet.
The setup for the couples massage was ok, not the best I've seen. We were welcomed into the massage room ahead of being shown to the changing room which was strange. We enjoyed our massages though.
After the massage, the masseuse directed us to the relaxation room, but we still had our clothes in hand which wasn't convenient. We were able to negotiate to go to the changing room to drop our things off as we wouldn't be able to relax if we are carrying our things around with us thoughout the spa.
After the massage, we went into the jacuzzi, which again was ok, but not great. The water was warmish to cold, but we made the best of the situation.

Bought a voucher for massage +lunch. Voucher said arrive 20 mins early, we got there and found out it actually started 30 mins after the time advertised. So we had to wait 50 mins in the Cafe/tea room and they didn't even offer complimentary drinks (tea). Massage experience was very nice but then we had to wait another 30 mins until they opened the restaurant... And some more until they brought food. This time they comped the drinks. Food was edible but nothing to write home about. Tea room is pretty quirky if you like pink and staff is overall very nice. But wouldn't buy again.

EXCELLENT spa! Everything is 5 star - the service, the treatment, the decor, the amenities etc. Loved it!

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted very warmly by the lady at reception and given a complimentary tea. Then I was shown to the beautiful changing rooms ahead of my treatment.

My massage and facial were great - the massage was very relaxing (so much so that I felt really sleepy after!) and my facial was good too. The bed was heated too which felt great.

There is a relaxation room that can be used to relax in after a treatment. It’s a quiet room with soothing music and three lounge chairs, where you can sit back and relax with complimentary tea (you’re given a tea menu to choose from). I had a great relaxing time!

Overall this is a great spa that I would gladly go back to again!

One of the best spa I've ever been. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I booked the package which includes using spa facilities, 90mins massage treatment and afternoon tea for two (cake was not all that which is the only downside). Everything else was so perfect that I can't wait to visit again.

I only came for the deep tissue massage I got as a gift. I wasn't too interested in the facilities. I did not notice anything that did not work or bad service etc. But my 5 star rating goes to the massage therapist Sofia who gave me THE deep tissue massage. Stubborn knots that lived on my shoulders were blasted away. I literally flopped down the massage table after the session because it felt like I'd just been tenderised. I was sore the rest of the day and even the next day, but I slept so well, and for the first time in a few months I woke up without any restrictions on my neck. Thank you 🙏 I'll be back just for the massage.

We went for the virgin experience and were due to have two treatments but due to a delay in us getting to the appointment we were only able to get the massage and then spend time in the zen room with tea after. Was a lovely massage and we were given a choice in how our treatment would be delivered in terms of scent, product and pressure. The tea provided was a nice touch and the welcome was very friendly and the massage was lovely. Shame we didn't have time for the facials also but i imagine that would've been great. Nice to have time to relax in the zen room after and there were magazines available for those who wanted them.

Very pleasant to look at, and easy to park for a disabled person.
Lovely receptionist and tea.
However, we booked a spa day and were really looking forward to the jacuzzi. They didn't tell us it wasn't working until we arrived, which was very disappointing.

We are not unfamiliar with spa services and the steam room was UNBEARABLY hot!
We kept having to open the door, and eventually the door to the hallway. It was so hot, it set off a sensor alarm.
I had to go and ask reception if it could be turned down a tad. I was told they had no control over it and couldn't adjust it!! Never known that in a spa setting.

However.... The massage was AMAZING!! One of the best I've had. The masseuse was so petite, I thought she wouldn't have the strength for the pressure I needed. I was wrong!!
I think her name could have been Jessica?
Whoever she was, she was the best thing that happened on the day, but still not enough to make me come back.

In summary, I can get better elsewhere and would not return as this spa is not accommodating to individual needs and should have notified us beforehand that it wasn't fully operational, so we could decide if we still wanted to attend.

The front desk staff and treatment specialist were excellent in their manners and approach. My spa treatment was very good, with considerable explanation given to the offerings and ingredients used in the body care products. Use of the steam room was also included. Only thing to have improved the experience would have been a small splash pool. The Munich Sofitel has one at their spa, but they have a larger building than the St James Sofitel. Overall, if you are looking for an upscale spa experience in London, this is an excellent option.
