Fabulous place to stay, 5 star 🌟 🤩 luxury but at a great price. We stayed in Somerset House executive room and did the bed, breakfast, dinner offer well worth the money.|Great location for the Portsmouth to Isle of Wight ferry and the beach and visiting the Gun Wharf.|The Florence Arms Pub & Restaurant fantastic evening meal & breakfast.||We had excellent stay. Would recommend & just about to rebook for summer 2025.

Possibly the worst boutique hotel I have EVER stayed in. ||We were on the first floor and the noise is almost unbearable above us. The night comings and goings were almost tolerable but then during the day I needed to stay in the room for a few hours to get work done and I couldn't. The banging, stomping and slamming of doors from the housekeeping staff was nothing I have ever experienced before. Terrible. ||The drain in the shower did not actually drain. The shower flooded the bathroom every time we used it. |The drain in the sink was so noisy you could not hear yourself thing. ||The place is dirty by any standards and the fabric chairs in the room were so unclean I could not even bring myself to sit in them. ||By far the worst boutique hotel expeience I have ever had. ||The need to do a LOT better or drop "boutique" from their name. Immediately. A total let down. Do not stay here. There are plenty of other options in this city I wish I would have explored before booking this place.

My husband and I - from Australia - spent 3 days and nights in Portsmouth in late September. Our accommodation at Sometset House was booked for us by our travel agent.|Delicious breakfasts in hotel restaurant across the road each morning. Also well-priced meals and drinks available|The ambience of the hotel and the accommodation was wonderful, amenities all top quality and great service.|Highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay here for our Anniversary. My husband advises me that Mia was very helpful with the room booking. The room was gorgeous and comfortable with a lovely big bath. |The area was very quiet, which we didn’t really expect, and it was a a couple of minutes from the sea front. |Breakfast was delicious, and staff were very friendly and helpful, whilst being very busy. |A parking space was booked, so there was no problem with parking. |We will definitely be returning.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, and conveniently located one street from the beach and 5-10 min into the bar and restaurant district. Free parking permit on the street nearby. We stayed just one night to visit Portsmouth but we definitivly come back when we are around next time.

Beautiful building, fab room, lovely staff, great food, definitely recommend! Short stroll to the beach and 20 mins walk into town. Great breakfast with plenty of veggie and vegetarian options, fab evening meal too. Will definitely return!

We have just returned from 5 weeks on the road in France and Spain. Where we stayed in overpriced, small, less than clean rooms.

Wow what a refreshing change at Somerset House.

Large, bright, clean, well equipped rooms and an excellent breakfast at a very reasonable price.
The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful.
Highly recommend
