A great one night visit on Business. The evening meal terrific ! A great portion and quality.|The room very clean and well appointed but not the biggest size.|But this is a Coaching Inn and my type of favourite places to stay.|The Bar, again, not the biggest but a "Propper" country Pub.|The staff couldn't not have been more friendly ! I will definately be staying here again when my needs require.

Sat outside. The Sorrel Horse has plenty of outdoor seating and the play area is good. The food ordering was easy, with a short waiting time for the food to arrive. Chips and sandwiches were of a good size and price. Staff very helpful and pleasant.
I went during a weekday lunch hour so it wasn't overly busy.
Would definitely order fish and chips as people around me who ordered were clearing their plates of the food.

Recently visited here with family and was disappointed with the food. 4 of us chose to have a roast dinner, some plates had 4 roast potatoes, some only had 2, but when I mentioned this to staff and asked for more roasties, I was told, chef says no. Never had a roast with 2 potatoes before and normally potion sizes are the same. The vegetables were overcooked and soggy, the gravy did not taste of anything and was unpleasant. I left feeling very disappointed, especially after paying £16.00 per roast. My partner had a cheeseburger and actually had stomach ache that evening. I won't be returning.

Looks like school dinners but tastes great, was surprised at the burgers and beef horse raddish sandwiches. Get the impression that its family run, the staff are great. Kids play area which is off to the side, is really well laid out so parents can see all.
The environment and the other patreons are really good folk.
This just one of those really good places to be, and will make great memories.

Why oh why do small businesses not put decent beds in their rooms, I'm afraid that obviously why on my travels, I stay 90% of the time at Premier Inn. I really want to support local business on my travels, but the beds are so cheap and soft. I'm sure there are good beds our there in the smaller hotels, but I've yet to find one. I won't even go into the bit where I asked for crispy bacon ..

What a great place to stay, a real old school pub. The staff are friendly and efficient always on hand to help out. The Pub was packed on a Tuesday evening with lots of people eating. Our room was spotless with nice comfy beds it also had a good size shower room. The included breakfast was second to none and very well presented. Again the staff were very good, even offering advice on where to go locally.

Was recommended to try the steak pudding here and I was very impressed, came back with another friend 2 days later and had it again, and then a week later came back for my birthday with 4 others and had it again haha so it’s definitely highly recommended from me. This is a good pub for proper food and drink and reasonable prices.
