We stayed in 7 Meadow View. The lodge was spotless. The location was perfect for visiting a lot of what Cornwall has to offer. From start to finish the communication re booking and arriving was superb as we knew what we were getting. The hot tub was checked at least twice since we were there for our 7 night break. A beautiful treat at the end of the day. Tea and coffee making facilities with milk in the fridge on arrival was perfect after a long drive. The lodge was so spacious and had absolutely everything you needed for self catering. The linen was so clean. The best nights sleep in such a long time. The staff could not do enough for us. The actual site was beautiful with immaculate grounds. So peaceful. It was our first visit and we will definitely be back. We have been in a few lodges but this was the best so far. Loved the lodge and as I say the people were so inviting and a really fab team. Could not fault it at all.

Had an excellent relaxing 2 weeks at Faraway Fields. The Lodge was very nice and the views brilliant. Each Lodge was well situated so as not to overlook each other. The hot tub was used every day. The receptionist was lovely and nothing was too trouble. We had a couple of meals at the Old Mill which were great. Would highly recommend 👍.

We had such a wonderful stay in 2 Meadow Retreat. The lodge is finished to an incredible standard, and the jacuzzi, sauna and cinema room were great. It's the perfect place to relax, and has everything you'd need. The site itself is quiet, but easy to get to. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend.

We booked a very last minute break at Southern Halt after seeing the wonderful weather forecast for the June heatwave. I had come across Charteroak and especially the Southern Halt site during previous searches for lodge holidays and was not disappointed!|Within 10 minutes of arrival, we had decided we would be returning again soon and for longer. Within 24 hours of returning home, I had sent links to my friends and neighbours who like similar holidays.|We LOVED...|The standard of the site was exceptional. Each lodge was set out in beautifully kept and imaginatively planted surroundings ensuring peace and privacy for every lodge. The only sound we heard other than birdsong, was the occasional crunch of gravel as cars came in and out on the out-of-sight pathway.|The lodge was spacious and well equipped for relaxing outside, inside, eating, working (there's a desk area), watching TV, playing games. My partner took his painting materials and the light and space was perfect for him to indulge in capturing the beautiful surroundings.|Although the weather was very hot, the hot tub setting was perfect for an evening soak under the stars.|The location was well placed for exploring in all directions. The close local amenities at Liskeard, the beautiful Siblyback lake and surrounding hills, Polperro and Looe to the south and Polzaeth, Padstow and Port Isaac to the north.|Room for improvement (very minor) ...|The range of crockery and cutlery was limited. There were no unbreakable/plastic cups or dishes. We would have found this handy for outside and would most definitely have had to buy some if our grandchildren had been with us.|Whilst overall, the lodge was very clean, the kitchen cupboards, fridge, toaster, bin and dishwasher filter could have done with a through wipe down.|TIPS - you don't need to take tea towel etc as advised on booking form - they are generously provided. DO take some spare towels for the hot tub if you don't want soggy robes!!|BOOK IT and ENJOY!!!

At least our 5th visit to Southern Halt. This time we stayed in 5 Southern Place. Beautiful clean Lodge. Bed, extremely comfortable. If any downside, 1 small frying pan and 3 saucepans was all we had to cook with. A wok would have been nice, as it has multiple uses. Each lodge appears to be equipped differently, making it hard to know exactly what you will have. The cushions on the outdoor furniture have seen better days as had green mould on, from always being outside. Really need changing. Other than that, couldn't fault anything. Added bonus was the fabulous weather. We love Southern Halt, already planning our next visit

What an experience, having stayed here before, we knew we had to return, this time with our puppy.

We booked prior to getting the puppy, but upon explaining the situation to Sally here at Southern Halt, she was more than happy to help us by swapping our lodge to a pet friendly one with no hassle at all.

Whether you just want somewhere nice to stay tucked away in the countryside or a luxurious lodge outfitted with a hot tub, sauna, and cinema room, Southern Halt has it here.

From the moment you arrive, you're left with very few options other than to relax, with picturesque views in every direction and the calming sounds of nature all around no place has ever come close.

Having visited so many locations worldwide, Southern Halt has become my go-to location for a relaxing break.

We had a lovely stay at Southern Halt. Sally was super helpful during the booking process. The setting of the lodge was perfect; quiet, peaceful and although other lodges close by, you didn’t feel overlooked or hemmed in. The lodge was clean, and had everything you needed. We did have an issue with the electrics during our stay and although we were moved to a lodge, that wasn’t as nice as the one we had booked, I couldn’t fault the staff for quickly getting us somewhere else to stay and sorting our lodge to go back the next day!
