We hired Space & Thyme's small horse box for a private event at our house for a housewarming party! Safe to say, the customer service was beyond excellent and every one of our guests thoroughly enjoyed the bar.

We highly recommend Space & Thyme for any event as they were so professional, looked after the guests, ensured our itinerary was kept to with timings, and fully cleaned up after themselves leaving us with no mess!

Special mention to Rob for helping to organise this and Loz and Nancy on the night for their excellent service.

Used Space & Thyme for our wedding catering and the experiences was utterly shocking. Our initial contact was great - despite us booking more than a year in advance, he was able to help with sorting the wedding breakfast, buffet, etc and was readily available for phone calls at a moments notice to answer questions on various points.

However, after a period of no contact, we were told that he'd left the business months ago and were introduced to Sally. A pure nightmare of communication issues occurred from then as well as attempts to change pre-agreed timings. Constantly having to chase emails and no answers to phone calls only to then get a response as if I hadn't just sent 3 chasers on an email sent a fortnight ago.

They day before the wedding, during set up at the venue, I was told Sally would be dropping in to make herself known only to find out from the venue, after making sally aware I was going to stick around to speak with her, that she'd rushed in to drop equipment off and left just as fast.

The service on the day left much to be desired. - The waiting staff were making every effort they could (despite being clearly understaffed) mistakes just kept happening. From a piecemeal food service that left some guests with food and other still waiting (despite being sat next to eachother). To top it all off, the main meals were served cold to the head table (as well as half the guests!).

This being said - the good was still good. Desserts were very nice (even if they did take 40 minutes to get served and were served with a few dirty plates from the mains still out on the tables) and the evening buffet was spectacular.

When raising these issues after returning from our honeymoon - I was met with nothing but excuse after excuse. Blaming the size of the catering space at the venue (despite being a recommended supplier), the fact the speeches were shorter than they expected (without ever asking us how long we thought they'd go on for), and that some things were to just be expected.

Eventually was offered a half arsed attempt of an apology with a "gesture of goodwill" refund of 5% of a near £10k invoice. - A bit of a joke in all honesty

I'm sure Space & Thyme are a great caterer to use for buffets/smaller events - but I would recommend steering clear for wedding catering. Especially if you want consistent communication and not to be stressed out (more than you already will be!) on the day.

Space & Thyme did a dinner banquet for our large wedding in central Brighton last month and did an excellent job. They were very reasonably priced and really accommodating for all our dietary requirements (which included needing an entirely gluten free, nut free menu!) We also had a mostly vegetarian options - so the criteria was tricky!
We had several guests compliment us on the food, saying it was delicious, especially the canapes!
The banquet approach worked really well for our large numbers and long table layouts and gave a less formal approach than plates being brought per person. There was a little left over afterwards which meant everyone was well fed!
We also had several people saying how friendly and helpful all the waiting staff were. I know it must have been a bit of a tricky venue to work in due to lack of space and facilities but they were really organised, friendly and helpful throughout. Top marks!

Totally professional team who provided an amazing spread for our wedding celebration. The smoker train was a key feature for our rustic outdoor party.

Everyone commented on how good the food was.

Our site had challenges, being a field in the middle of nowhere & typical summer rain but the Space & Thyme team know their stuff simply adjusting to the conditions without a fuss.

Lovely bunch & recommend without reservation. Thanks for the hard work & making things easy for us on the day.

I'm so happy we chose Space & Thyme to cater for our wedding. They just did everything so well! Above all, I felt that their customer service was outstanding. I felt that they were so helpful over the phone and via email, helping us to choose what would be best for our event and meet our budget. When I eventually met them face to face in the build up to and on the 'big day' itself the team were so friendly, and I had absolute confidence in them to deliver. All our guests commented on how delicious the food was and it was so well presented. Their prices are fair and I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

After an extensive search we chose Space and Thyme to do the Catering for our Civil Partnership - I'm so glad we chose them!

Rob and his team were a friendly bunch of problem solvers and must importantly delivered food that was delicious and a highlight of the day. All our guests were raving about it. They guided us in building a menu to cater for all our friends diets and the food was so tasty I've still got cravings! Every dish was a total showstopper.

We went for a casual buffet style experience, which meant no one was waiting more than a couple of minutes for their food. Space and Thyme really understood our requirements and also sourced the table ware and furniture, taking the stress out of organizing the day.

Wonderful catering company, very professional and scrumptious food. The team where friendly & easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Space and thyme did a wonderful job catering for my birthday & where happy to be flexible with the menu options to cater for all the veggies & vegans attending, they even made us a vegan pavlova - which was delicious. Can’t recommend space and thyme enough. This is the second time I’ve used them and I’ll be coming back again. Thank you for the yummy food
