Had cataract op 9 days ago. Was so nervous but the op only took about 15 minutes and was painless. Next day seeing everything clear and bright was amazing. Hardly any pain or discomfort. All that worrying I did for nothing. The staff are lovely and friendly. I will tell everyone I know not to be nervous as it's a simple procedure and painless. Will not be bothered when I get my 2nd eye done that's for sure.

I have never received such wonderful hospitality from any other medical establishment.
I was offered copious amounts of coffee and biscuits from every member of staff that I came into contact with, from the medical team to the receptionists.
However, due to nerves and suffering from “White Coat Syndrome” I had to refuse all hospitality on offer.
However my fears of cataract surgery soon disappeared once I was in the capable hands of the medical team, who put me at ease.
Therefore, now having surgery completed on both of my eyes I would some day like to pop into the eye clinic and have a biscuit and cup of coffee with the staff and thank them personally.
For a nervous wimp such as myself I am thankful that God only decided to supply me with two eyes and not three.
But if the latter had been the case, then I would be making my way back to SpaMedica in Hull.

Absolutely brilliant staff and surgeons had one eye done was nervous but no need to be and cannot wait to get the other eye sorted so if anyone reading this please don't worry it's painless and the result is unbelievable 😀

Had my Dad at Spa medical Hull for his cataract removal. He was very nervous about the operation. From walking into the building he was really well looked after. The lady behind reception checked him in and she sat with him and calmed him down which he was grateful for. The operation was very quick about 15 minutes the only thing was the operation bed as my dad has motorbility issues he find the bed hard to get on but with a bit of help off the staff he managed. The surgeon was very polite with him as were every member of staff he came across. Its now been 3 weeks and he can see out of his right eye only thing is he needs his left eye done now as he has realised how bad his left eye is and can't see out of that one. He has said that he can't wait to return to have his left eye done. When we were leaving a member of staff came out to the car and asked of he needed help which was nice of them. He says he was nervous because he was over thinking the operation but the operation was so easy. The building was very clean as well.

Had my cataract op yesterday. Everyone at Cottingham is so friendly and very professional. I was very nervous, but they put me at ease and explained every part of the process. I was never rushed and had time to ask questions. Thank you.
