We attended a private function at this establishment and decided to stay over to save the drive home. The stay was wonderful and relaxing. The staff made us feel very welcome. The luscious christmas decorations made it extra special - we certainly felt that Christmas had started. The buffet at the private event was second to none. Our room was luxurious: the bathroom was amazing with a huge walk-in shower. Breakfast the following morning was quite possibly the best breakfast we've had in years.|...we WILL be going back!

First class accommodation in a rural setting with management going beyond their duty to help. We arrived on bikes after a whole day of cycling and our bikes were immediately locked securely away without question. The small but very welcome pool was extremely welcome and a perfect temperature to unwind. Our twin room was large and very well equipped and the shower superb. The beds were extremely comfortable and our night perfectly quiet. At the last minute we ordered some chips which were brought to our room and were the very best we’ve ever tasted - as was the red wine we bought at the bar. We have no hesitation to recommend this hotel and hope to return for a luxurious stay at a very reasonable price! Thank you! ☺️

The room and shower (disabled) were excellent and spotlessly clean. The whole complex has been thoughtfully and tastefully renovated since the current owners took over 10 years ago. The restaurant offers a very good breakfast and bar-style food in the evening. The owners and staff were very welcoming and helpful. The swimming pool was a good temperature for a late afternoon swim in September. Overall I would recommend, and would happily return next time we visit Rutland.

Could do better. |The rooms were nice enough but a little tired. The bin hadn’t been emptied in my room. |The evening meal was extremely average, particularly for a “Festive” menu. Line caught cod it may have been, but out of a cardboard frozen box ? Really! |Breakfast however was excellent.

We were in need of a night away from the usual grind of home and family. We found what we were looking for at Spanhoe Lodge. Peace and tranquility to enjoy some much awaited us time. The setting is just right and the accommodation suited our needs perfectly. The spacious room enabled us to sit together on the sofa without interruption and look at the beautiful view. The fridge kept the bubbles chilled and fortunately the clear sky enabled us to stare peacefully at the stars. Spanhoe Lodge is a credit to its owners who have taken each individuals needs into consideration and the upkeep of the lodge and grounds are of the highest standards. Well done Spanhoe Lodge. We will return.

We went for the meet santa experience with my 2 year old and it was so amazing. All the staff were great, Maddie the elf really stood out for us and the location was lovely too. We are considering coming back for an afternoon tea! The b and b breakfasts look good too

We enjoyed once again the friendly reception, clean, well appointed comfortable bedroom and superb breakfast. Service is prompt and efficient and anything we needed was provided. ||We are grateful to have found such a lovely place to stay in an area that we like to visit from time to time. We just love Spanhoe Lodge, it's a great little escape for a weekend away. The pool is a must in the summer months.|The food is delicious, served by friendly staff. We always feel very welcome there and have been many times.|Santa's grotto is amazing!!
