We ordered burgers and scampi, and they were both delicious. I can only comment on the burger—it was great. It probably would have been better with some coleslaw, but we got what we wanted.

If I were to rate the friendliness of the place, I’d give it a 7/10. Perhaps the lady behind the bar was having a bad day; I’m not sure.

They don’t offer table service, so you have to order at the bar, which I personally find to be a drawback. You might not have an issue with it, though.

I asked for a fudge cake served warm with ice cream. While it was only slightly warm, the taste made up for the missed request.

The beer selection is amazing, with lots of great options to choose from (though this is subjective).

If they added table service and paid a bit more attention to food preparation and special requests, this would easily be a 4.5–5-star place.

Two days in a row I decided to have meetings here, first with a group from Canada, then up from Kent. Service by the staff is impeccable, friendly and welcoming. Seems quite quiet during weekday afternoons, and a great relaxed environment to chat and work generally.

Food seems okay, though my 'rare' sirloin yesterday came well-done, but chips were fantastic - and guests were happy enough. Particularly liked the potato and leek soup. Today I had a pretty great Peri-Peri kebab.

Fair selection of beer on tap, and a large outdoor smoking area. Well recommended.

Came on a very quiet part of the day. All the food came out at a decent time in-between courses. It was all fresh and really hot, clearly the high standards carried on even when it was quiet. The gentleman at the bar was really friendly and was nice to hear him talk to the local customers. Hidden gem got so much better than the last time I was here about ten years ago. (Also I love the protion size of the chops on my burger, I doubled the fries and there was so much!) 10/10

Overall really good place to have a meal and relax. Nice and big pub with load of parking areas for customers and free. Not only that they have 3 fast electric car chargers too. Only down side was staff didn't seams like happy at all feel like they lost.. Food we ordered mixed grill comes without chicken then we had to ask for it. Then we orded ale pie after 10_15min the come and said they don't have that and order some thing els so we orded stake and mentioned make sure we'll done but it came red.. After all giving 4 star thinking we went there wrong time which is around 3-4pm. May be we will try again anther time

Very good service. A good choice of meals on the main menu, and our food arrived in good time and was delicious. Only one tiny error ( no mango chutney with curry) was rectified promptly and cheerfully.

Very quiet, for a Saturday evening, food was ok but could have been hotter, my steak was Luke warm, missed the button mushroom off the plate. The gammon was overdone. My sauce for the steak hadn't been ordered but they still bought me two out which was piping hot. This used to be a really good pub for food, but not anymore which is a shame.
