Went for lunch, two adults and young teen. All enjoyed our meals a lot, and the service was friendly and efficient. The venue is the old stables, brick building, looks cool with nice atmosphere if a little bit of a squeeze. At £85 it was kind of pricy for 3 meals and soft drinks, but it’s Lewes innitx

Daughter had pork belly with burnt apple sauce, which was spot on melting and tasty. She also had chips, which were herbed and salted nicely, but undercooked and oily for it, with a little corny bite remaining in the middle. The weakest point of the meal. My wife had pork and red cabbage which was also perfectly cooked and flavoured, and for me, I had braised ox cheek with tomato pancetta sauce and spaghetti, which was beautiful.

So, worth the price for a luxury lunch that we all greatly enjoyed for the most part. Crisp up those chips and it would be 5*

Came for Sunday lunch with family (8 adults). The food was really good, highly recommend the lasagna. The staff were attentive and refilled bread (the oil was delicious!!). It’s a cute location in the town. Will be back

I am thrilled that this great place has opened in Lewes. It is just what we needed! Understated, locally sourced food, cooked simply, with care and really delicious. Coupled with a concise but good value wine list, easy going service and casual setting. I love it! Oh and also try their breakfast offering it is also ingredient lead, fuss free and delicious!

Avoid - it will cost you!

Booked weekend lunch for 1:30. Still waiting at 2pm and despite three empty tables were told there was nowhere available yet. Youth serving new arrivals was totally patronizing; control freak!

Eventually served very salty soup with tiny piece of sourdough sitting in small bowl of oil. Hot drinks were barely warm and turned out to be massively over-priced.

£83 for tiny lunch, lukewarm drinks in a cramped dark chilly room. Definitely not Italian. Just an expensive waste of time. Left cold, still hungry and much poorer.

Zero Points for food / 'service' / 0 deg C atmosphere = NEVER AGAIN!

Was not satisfied with the Service at this restaurant. We arrived around 1.30 pm Saturday 02/02/2025. Initially ignore whilst quietly waiting for a table by 2 young waiters at the front. Then there were at least 2 empty table without reservation signs, was told to go out to the barn at the back, no one there, doors open to weather freezing, tables were bare. Poor attitude there are so many nicer places to dine in Lewes.
It has a hidden location feel to it which gives it a certain amount of desirability but lacks the pleasantry required by such a location.

Love this place. The food is great and the staff all so clearly part of a team working to create a lovely culinary experience.
The negroni is an inviting touch and imaginative non alcoholic options are an added bonus.
