I just had to share a review of this absolutely gorgeous house!
Every room is beautifully designed in Victorian style, filled with character, charm, and stunning antiques that give it a truly timeless feel. It’s like stepping into a piece of history, each corner is thoughtfully curated and full of atmosphere.

The garden is spacious and just as lovely.
Perfect for a peaceful stroll or relaxing moment.
The food is delicious, beautifully presented, and made with care by the kind staff!

The location is great tucked away in a quiet area perfect for a relaxing weekend or holiday, yet only about a 10min walk to the high street, where you’ll find restaurants, pubs, and shops, everything you need!

This place is not only a fantastic getaway but also a dream for photography lovers. The entire house itself could be a double as a photo studio, every room is a work of art with its own unique vibe. It could easily be a museum!

If you’re looking to experience a touch of Victorian elegance in a warm, welcoming setting, this is the place.

Many thanks to the wonderful owners and staff for making our stay so special with their genuine hospitality.

I won’t just come back here once, I’ll definitely be coming back over and over again!

Enjoy the city, enjoy the beach, this spot has it all!

Ignore the picky reviews, this place is amazing, it is no frills but all the frills, the decor is amazing, the place has been so well curated and put together, every inch of the house takes you back in time, is an incredible eclectic mix from times past. The breakfast continues on that theme, amazing presentation and a good choice, gorgeous garden and stunning chapel in the back garden too. I am about to go and stay for the fourth time

I would give this a 4 star plus. It's absolutely beautiful. All the rooms are decorated in Victorian style which is why we wanted to stay there. If you're into the quaint stuff this place is for you. We loved it. The next bit I'll say is not meant as a moan, just ideas for improving: it would have been nice to have a bathroom bin. There is a wicker bin in the main bedroom but every woman needs a bathroom bin! Also, there are plenty of cabinets but not much place to put your clothes as they're full of blankets and other things. I like to take
dresses on holiday but there was hardly any space for hanging clothes. I think it's something that needs to be addressed because people don't want to keep everything in their suitcases.

What a magical place! I'm already thinking about when I can return. You could spend hours just looking at all the objects and details and that's even before you explore the garden which is a small slice of heaven. My room (the old nursery) was gorgeous, such fascinating items everywhere you look. The bed really comfy, and the bathroom clean and tidy. The fried breakfast was divine, and Paul was so welcoming and helpful. You can tell this place is a real labour of love, and I really felt so peaceful there. Thank you, I can't wait to return. WOW. I was completely blown away by this b&b. It was such a unique and incredible experience. The old Victorian townhouse is so well appointed and every fixture and furnishing is absolutely beautiful. The hosts were such a lovely and accommodating couple. The breakfast was delicious and the garden in the back was beautiful to sit in. It truly was the perfect getaway and I hope to go back and enjoy it again soon. I was looking for a peaceful respite and St. Leonard’s delivered. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a unique experience. A short 10/15 minute walk from the train station also.

Arrived and lots of street parking right outside, we walked up the steps and was greeted by the owner and as he opened the door and you take a step in it took our breath away, it was beautiful! Everything around was stunning . The decorations were everywhere and it was warm and inviting, our room was also gorgeous, felt calm and we slept well, breakfast was tasty and relaxing with amazing surroundings. Would definitely recommend if you want to go somewhere with character. |Truly happy we booked there. Lovely owners and beautiful place.

What a beautiful house and gardens - full of Victorian furniture, ornaments and religious iconography. We loved the amazing attention to detail, such as the little milk jugs with fresh milk for morning tea/coffee, and the toast rack with a nightlight underneath to keep the toast warm. There was so much to take in...It's almost like staying in a museum, it's true. I love anything Victorian and of course had to read Trollope whilst there. The hosts Alexander and Paul were charming and helpful but not imposing. St Leonards itself has a faded glory and Hastings is full of history and amazing buildings in the old town. We loved the smugglers adventure, the old fishing net huts and the Victorian funicular. My husband was fascinated by the America Ground, where we had some really reasonable and tasty meals, followed by a long stroll along the promenade back to St B and the incline was certainly a challenge after a day spent walking! Rye is only half an hour away in the car and is absolutely amazing too.

As with other reviews I could enthusiastically comment on the gorgeous furniture, artwork, authentic Victorian elegance, the lovely gardens, attention to detail and much much more. For now though, I will just say that what most impressed me was the kindness, being welcomed not into a business but into a much loved home that they so graciously allow you to visit and share. I was treated as if I had been a special friend coming to visit. Time there is serene. I basked in the experience and hope to stay there again.
