From my first contact with Patience via email she was warm, welcoming and couldn't have done more to make our stay perfect. This was a rare break for my husband and I from work and our two children (left safely with my lovely mum) and was a great refresh & recharge.
We arrived by car & St Mary's Place was easy to find following Google maps. We were earlier than the 2pm check in time so parked up and explored Stamford before receiving an email saying our room was ready early if we wanted. We finished our drink in The Wine Bar & went to check in.
Check in was friendly & informal in the warm reception room of the most beautiful home with log burners, high ceilings & stylish furniture with a cup of tea/coffee.
Patience then showed us to our room (one of two) which is on the top floor of her home. It was calm and tastefully furnished with a comfortable bed, and huge en suite with roll top bath (and separate shower). The whole place was spotlessly clean with little extra touches like candles in the bathroom and fresh milk in a thermos to keep cold with the in room tea & coffee facilities.
Because of the recent weather we weren't able to explore the surrounding area on foot as much as we had hoped but there was plenty to do in the town itself with the shops, cafes, restaurants & pubs all within short walking distance.
Breakfast the following morning was really tasty, cooked fresh and served in a gorgeous dining room which again was sparklingly clean.
Overall I would hope to be lucky enough to return and have no hesitation in recommending this B&B. Thank you Patience for making our stay so wonderful.

We have just returned home after a lovely night at this wonderful home. Patience is a lovely caring host, we were welcomed with a hot drink and refreshments before being shown to our beautiful ensuite bedroom. We had a choice of dressing gowns, slippers, luxurious bubble bath, candles and even a decanter with a glass of sherry to help ourselves to before dinner. The location is fantastic for the nearby shops and restaurants and Patience was very knowledgeable about advise on local places of interest. We had a really relaxing evening followed by a very well cooked breakfast the following morning. Thank you for a lovely weekend and sharing your amazing home, I'm sure we will be back.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. We (2 couples) stayed and the welcome from Patience was as wonderful as the accommodation. A beautiful house in the centre of Stamford, the rooms are comfortable, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. It really is a pleasure to walk into and stay here. Breakfast in the morning was very tasty and there was plenty of it. Nothing was too much trouble for Patience. We can totally recommend this place. The hospitality, welcome, location and ambience is wonderful. We will be back.

With its large, high ceiling entrance this house has lovely character. The bedrooms are situated on the second floor so you must be comfortable climbing stairs to get to your room. The rooms have been modernised to a high quality finish so you should be very comfortable during your stay. The owners are extremely welcoming and have clearly put a lot of thought into what guests may like. Many small little extras are placed in your en-suite room for you to enjoy. Hopefully you will enjoy your stay here as much as I did.

We we’re warmly greeted and shown to our room. It was the most beautiful townhouse with views of the church from our bedroom. The house was quiet, clean and peaceful with a host who made you feel totally at home! Her cooked breakfast was delicious. Thank you again for a wonderful stay. We will come back soon.

I only had a chance to stay one night, but I have to say that this was a great experience. The warm welcome from Patience really made me feel at home. I had a rough trip but from the moment I entered the door everything was so relaxed and perfect, exacly what I needed. The place is spotless, clean, cozy, the breakfast is fantastic and during the night it's very quiet. I had a great sleep and even better breakfast.

We stayed for just one night in Nov and it was heaven. A gorgeous house, spacious bedroom and enormous bathroom at the top of the house. The host, Patience Wisdom, couldn't do enough to make sure our stay was perfect. The breakfast was varied and delicious. A privilege to stay in her beautiful house.

A beautiful B&B with a wonderful host who was attentive, charming and cooked the most delicious breakfasts - I couldn’t fault our stay. Stamford itself is well worth a visit too. It’s picturesque and although it’s small, it’s filled with plenty of restaurants and bars. It helped that everything was on our doorstep too - we didn’t want to leave!
