In a way I am sad to write this review. In another way not so.|I myself have been a member, along with my wife for over 10 years. Our son (now departed) had his first golf lesson with us there.|It is fair to say the estate has seen better days, there have been some improvements (changing rooms) but these are few and far between. What is really sad is the staffing. I used to enjoy my conversations with the staff, now you are lucky to find available staff. This is not a reflection on the staff themselves but the wait in the Cafe gets longer by the day, there are staff on the leisure desk if you are lucky and on the main desk the staff are for ever on the phone and unavailable to talk too. But the killing blow is that we have heard (from un official channels) that the leisure team is to be removed. As a hospitality destination there is no hospitality/time to give hospitality. I get our prices going up, everything is. But when loyalty and service go down then the end is near. St million, thank you for the distant good times, there are far more rewarding/understanding and loyal establishments in the area now. I would like to say I wish you well, but you quite clearly have any interest in what your members or probably even your staff have to say.

we had a wonderful couple.of nights away following some less than wonderful.bad news months. while we did not use the facilities on offer (was not in the mood to interact) they looked good and the golf course looked immaculate from our room and plenty of people playing. we made use of room service both nights and the staff eqch time were lovelly. we visited kit hill when we did venture out, some stunning views and wild horses (thank you too tony for the recommendation). we will be returning under better circumstances. the staff made this visit worthwhile for us.

Amazing stay. We stayed in one of the self catering cottages and it has everything we needed. The beds were very comfy and the cottages were very clean and modern. The facilities were great and so quiet. The receptionist when we checked in was very welcoming and explained everything to us. We ate at the restaurant twice and was served by the restaurant manager who was very attentive and smiley. I would recommend the king prawn linguine it was so flavoursome. Thank you for an amazing family stay. We will definitely be back.

Had a lovely weekend stay at St Mellion. We used the leisure facilities: gym, sauna, pool and jacuzzi. We ate at no.18 restaurant and had drinks there in the evening. The staff were very helpful, friendly and chatty. We ate in the evening at the nearby pub 'Who would have thought it' inn. Nice meal.|The hotel staff were very accommodating letting us use the leisure facilities both before 3pm on check in day and after 11am on checkout so we had a lovely, healthy weekend. Would recommend a stay here.

Well equipped gym especially for a hotel gym.|Lovely to be able to have a massage after the golf course battered us. Was busy so only able to book one. Staff were all excellent and helpful. Would have liked a room closer to reception but our fault for not requested.

We arrived on Friday afternoon and parked easily. However, we did not receive a warm welcome (or any welcome) when we checked in. Tony, on reception, was blunt, rude and ignorant. He gave us no information on the facilities on offer and we felt as if we were an inconvenience to him. (This seems to be a pattern throughout the reviews I have read) His directions to the lift were far from adequate, he did not offer to take us there or offer assistance with our bags, and the signage around the hotel was poor. In fact the layout of the hotel is very confusing.||Our room was pleasant and spacious, but the decor throughout the whole hotel was outdated. It was unfortunate that, due to the weather, we were not able to take advantage of the balcony that overlooked the 18th hole. The bed was clean and comfortable but the two chairs in our room were not. The bathroom looked a little tired and my partner and I struggled to get in and out of the shower/bath safely as there are no handrails fitted and the towels were not within easy reach. There was adequate hanging space but no drawers - good job we weren't staying for longer! The lighting was dismal and dark in our room but the air conditioning appeared to be working successfully. We felt the tea & coffee facilities in our room were poor and insufficient. ||We had been told that one of the restaurants was out of action when we booked (we saw the workmen in there) but had to walk through a cold unused restaurant that was all set up, to reach the bar which we found by default. ||When we arrived for breakfast at 9.30am on Saturday there were no cleared tables available. We had to move used plates ourselves. We saw no evidence of anyone replenishing the breakfast items which were not particularly hot.||Sunday morning's breakfast was even worse. There had been a wedding the previous day and most of the guests had stayed over. The whole of the breakfast area was full with guests and golfers and there was nowhere to sit. Perhaps it would have been a good idea to open up the "unused" restaurant for the overspill? The fruit, juices and pastries had run out and were not replenished, my partner had the last two slices of bread for toast and the two coffee machines were taking it in turns to breakdown. There appeared to be more staff working on Sunday morning, but too little, too late. ||We drank in the bar during the day on Saturday and the bar staff were excellent, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. However, the noise levels in the bar were quite high due to the wooden floors. ||We were impressed with the pool which we used during our stay. The reception staff was helpful and friendly, the pool was good and the jacuzzi pleasant.||We ate in the bar area on the Saturday evening. The food was good, well presented and hot and we received excellent service from Harrison who was very attentive.||Although some of our party are golfers, we did not play over the weekend as we had made other arrangements. However, we would think twice before visiting again due to the level of service we received in the hotel.

We were here for my daughter’s wedding. The wedding organisers were effect and professional and staff in the restaurant and bar area. The venue was nice. The rooms were serviceable but compared to other places we have stayed I felt it was a little over priced. The food on the day was excellent. |The reason for my low score is Tony on reception. Who was rude from arrival & not very helpful. His customer service skills appear to need updating. |For this reason we would not return. What a shame.

Had to make a last minute booking following a mix up elsewhere. The receptionist was very understanding and he even gave a slight discount as a result, despite not being required. Hotel lacked some conferencing facilities that I am used too (may have been a feature but didn't fully check). Staff were excellent and some good facilities on hand.|Carpets, really need looking at.
