When we booked St Raphael guest house we were sent detailed instructions on how to get there from the train station. We were met with a very warm welcome for our two day stay, our host was very friendly and helpful with local knowledge and on request had provided a chilled bottle of Prosecco (reasonably priced) on arrival. The room and en-suite were clean to a very high standard, very comfortable and temperature perfect so a good nights sleep was had. Tea/Coffee making facilities were provided. The breakfast (cooked full English, pre ordered the previous day) was excellent with a good selection of cereals, yoghurt, fruit juices and fruit salad to enjoy beforehand. A large pot of freshly made coffee or Tea was available and refills available on request, We would stay here again with no problem.

Very reasonably priced B&B within walking distance of everything in York. We stayed for two nights in the Ebor Suite which had enough room for us to spread out a bit after some small hotel rooms. The room was clean and just what we needed. The bathroom was big and had a full cabinet for your toiletries. There was a little sitting area outside but we didn't have time to use it since our stay was short. Breakfast was good and the hosts were very nice. We enjoyed chatting about American football, the owner's passion. The wait staff for breakfast was very attentive!

This guest house was our favorite during our travels in the UK! The location was perfect, and the breakfast was one of the best we had—homemade bread, fresh fruit, farm eggs, and a great à la carte selection. Adorable room - and most importantly, the staff was absolutely fabulous! Offering many restaurant recommendations as well, with great conversation! I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again on our next trip to York!

Just spent three nights at this guest house. A wonderful stay the staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast in a morning is something to look forward to with a good choice. We would definitely return here as it is located in a great position to walk into York. Thank you to the staff for making us so welcome.

We had a wonderful time in York and at St. Raphael guesthouse. It's a very warm and welcoming place, the room was clean and the beds comfortable. In the evenings you ordered what you would like for your cooked breakfast, and they made it fresh for you when you came down in the morning.|The location is perfect. We stayed at St. Raphael and it was probably our favorite accommodation on our entire holiday! Danny, our host, was incredible, and one of the most personable, memorable, and friendly people I have met! I wish he could have joined us for breakfast-ha! Speaking of breakfast, it was very good and a comprehensive full English. I little note I may add is their bread is a 10/10.

Convenient B&B in a pleasant part of York. The breakfast was delicious with many choices to suit all preferences. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. I highly recommend this B&B if you are visiting York.

St Raphael is in a wonderful location, close to the city centre but on a quiet street. Our room was simple but well stocked with essentials, breakfast was great with lots of choice and staff always helpful to answer any questions and make helpful suggestions. We would certainly not hesitate to return the next time we are in York.
